Wonderful Monday

Ah yes its a lovely day.  I'm up and going to work and could NOT be more overjoyed at the prospect.  I've just had a three day weekend and what could possibly be the perfect follow up to a long weekend, thank waking up on Monday and going to work..AHhhh yes, life is just plain wonderful. 
(yeah, I'm working on my mood today, can you tell?)
I'll be fine though because....My vacation starts May 15...and I fully intend to sleep late every single morning and that's that...
The damn weatherman just said for the third time this morning..."I'll have all the details later"...LATER....Hey stupid, I need to know NOW......Jerk.
Kevin Harvick won the car race Sat. night.  He's not my favorite driver but...he beats the crap out of any driver with the  last name "Busch"..Baby Busch got called to the "hauler" Sat too.  That's what you get for going up to someone when you're not happy with them..Nascar today is being run by Miss Manners...grrr
Greg Maddux pitched a beauty yesterday.  For someone who's 40, he seems to be in better shape than he was last year.  Too bad he can't pitch every single day.  Cubs might have a chance.
Does anyone know if the Food Network has any black people working there?  The "New Food Network Star" ended last night.  There was a black man and a white man as the finalists.  Reggie, the black man, was my favorite.  The other guy, Guy, was okay and had a wonderful laugh but I just wanted Reggie to win.  I got thinking about the "Food Network's Cooks" and I can't think of one black person.  Can you?  I know they had the Vegetarian dude years ago, but I can't think of even seeing a black person on that show.  Cameraman, directors nothing....No I'm not trying to start anything.  I don't watch Food TV 24hrs a day and was wondering about that last night....Of course, as far as the public voting.   There was probably me and two others and the other two probably were Guy's family.....Just saying...9pm Sunday, Food Network,  Probably not.
I am working on hating Walmart....In their never ending attempt to turn into Target, they've messed up the reason I go there.  I can't tell you how many items I used to buy there and they've stopped carrying.  Lotions, OTC meds, etc.. but the worst thing is the "chicken jerky" things they USED to carry for doggie treats.  Maxi loves those damn things and he WAS getting one every morning for "breakfast". I ritual he and I had and now...Don't carry any more and you should see the look I get every morning when he gets a substitute.., and to make matters worse, they were out of "denta sticks" too so I had to break what I had in half.  This morning he looked at me like I had stolen his food.....Damn Walmart.
Ok, enough babbling.  One of the bosses told me Thursday that there would be PLENTY of stuff waiting for me this morning.  OH JOY.......Have a great Monday everyone... <=== Catdoms' answer to my passed out doggie on the couch...Thanks Maribeth..

What a dope...

That would be me....The dope.  All the way.  I just got up, 6:24 am.  I'm supposed to many steps ahead of where I am in my quest to get to work..We've got some visitors coming in today, who are company (the new one) "big wigs" and no one has ever met them.  So I figured, you know, first impression etc.  So I ironed clothes, (I bought some new ones) and ever purchased panty hose to wear today.  Got my car washed also, since its parked in the front of the building.  I decided first impression was the most important one and I sure don't want them to "clean house".  But if they do, I just don't want to be first in line.
Fine day to sleep in isn't it?          Grrrrrr.  So, those of you who are off today, Enjoy!!. Those of  you who have to go back to work..........well,,,,,Sorry.

Dead Battery

No. not in my car, in me.  I don't want to go to work this morning.  I really don't know why except its a chronic disease I seem to have. I didn't sleep well last night at all so that may be part of it ..I hope so. ..I may just take a long weekend or something very soon..I'd take Easter weekend and go and see the Zoot except someone has already taken Monday.  I don't want to drive home on Easter so....I guess I'll put bunny ears on Maxi...hehehehe.
The Golf yesterday was great.  All up to the end of the tournament.  I don't know why, but I just don't have the "umph" for Phil Mickelson.  He seems nice enough and I wasn't rooting against him but he and his family look like "the perfect family".  They never say or do anything just plain human and I think that gets on my nerves.  I was rooting for Fred Couples.  Oh well, I'm glad Phil won over some others, just not Freddie...
Cubbies.........whoooooo.  Swept the Cardinals. Our season is good and complete.  Beating the Cardinals is wonderful and sweeping them right out of the neighborhood is just wonderful.  I had the game on the TV and it was the 8th inning and the Cubbies were losing.  Here comes Isringhousen, the Cardinals closer.  Usually you can just go home when he comes in.  There was one Cub on base when Izzy got in there.  He promptly walked the next two hitters loading the bases and here comes our catcher Michael Barrett...Who is a bit odd, but he can play some baseball.......How's a grand slam sound. Oh yeah and my butt was up and cheering...I'm sure the neighbors loved that but what the hey.....add one more and here come the Cubbies sweeping the Cardinals under the rug.  For now anyway and I intend to enjoy it because I'm no fool folks.....Enjoy it while you can.
Did you see Kermit on Extreme Makeover, Home Edition last night.?  What a hoot and just about the only adequate replacement for Ty....
Food Network Star was pretty good last night but I sure didn't like the guy they sent home...The four that are left?  I have no great love for any of them...Whoever they pick ...I won't be watching..

I've only got a few minutes this morning.  I'm having a little "issue" with my computer (blog) and am working on it...Nothing that not putting up Flickr pics won't cure...geeze..
This week at work should be interesting.  The other inside sales person is on vacation...That leaves me...The girl that usually helps.....Jury duty.  Who had better NOT get sick this week........ME...and I'm also handling all of it so I figure by Friday, I'll be a raving lunatic..

PS.. Does anyone know where George Mason is?  I personally have never heard of them until this weekend....I think I have two teams to root for ...LSU and George Mason.  Either one is just fine.  See, I am a Volunteer Fan...and that is something akin to a religion and the major sin in this particular religion is rooting for Florida. That is nearly the first commandment so if Florida gets to the "big game"...................Go LSU/George Mason..

Merry Monday?!?!?!?!

Good Morning everyone....It's day one of a lovely week ahead.  With the exception of today there will be no rain all week.  Of course its going to be 10 degrees below the normal temps but...Its still closer to spring and that is good...........(don't hit me, I'm trying here).
I just read a post somewhere about why "Lost" has so many re-runs.  Something about 26 episodes and 35 weeks.  That ABC insists they start it in September and run it through all the "sweeps" times etc....I only have one question...Why is it only noticeable on "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives"?  I haven't noticed it on any other show I watch...i.e "NCIS", "Criminal Minds" , InJustice..to name three.... My suggestion is...make more episodes ...but of course I'm sure there's a reason for that too..
Lady Vols won yesterday....Oh yeah, they won.  I'm thinking the NCAA might be sorry they made the ladies a two seed..  Pat is quite angry...and it shows
To all football fans....what do you think about TO playing for the Cowboys...A marriage made in heaven?  or he**.............I'm for the second one..
BTW..Food TV is running their "reality" show again.  Where people are trying to be chosen for a show of their own on Sat. am...It's pretty good so far.  It started last night at 9 with two episodes. I only made it through one episode.. I'm sure it'll run on and off all week.  I'm not sure when the regular show will be on....I pretty much love the cooking channel anyway.  They had a show on yesterday about how some of the shows are made and it was fascinating..  Knowing nothing about TV/TV Shows, I had no idea that they rehearse these shows up to "chopping the onions".............What a hoot.  It takes 9 hours to do one episode of "30 minute meals"....and putting on Emeril Live...His producer had better make LOTS of money............

Its' College basketball heaven time...All I can say is "learn to live with it if you don't like basketball 'cause its everywhere..............Go Vols. They play in Greensboro, NC..

There's a new show on tonight.  Its called something like "Old Charlotte" with the female from Seinfeld (which I never watched).  The commercials look like it may be good unless they're showing the only good shots there are.  And guess what, that won't be the first time that's happened. There are two episoded one at 8:30 and 9:30.  I'll have to tape one because Apprentice is on too.  BTW...I tried that show "Conviction" again and I still have the opinion that it s*cks. I would like to hear someone else's opinion who has watched it..

I'm going to be trying to find the error on my blog which is making the print in the posts so tiny one IE.  It's fine on Firefox but Typepad wants me to take down both side bars and put them back one at a time so if you notice anything odd...that's it...Unless of course anyone else know's what to do that might be a little less tedious...........

Ok..I"m off to get ready for work.  It's 62 degrees here NOW and will be near 80 at 5pm.  Imagine...Then down we go...back to normal

Jimmy Johnson won the race yesterday, by the way.  I didn't pick him because I picked him to win Dayton and you can only pick them one.. Edgerrin James now plays for the Arizona Cardinals instead of the Colts.  Some people will do anything for money and Dennis Green looks preggers..mmm

WEEK AHEAD

First a wrap up last night.....Matt Kenseth won the car race.  Mercifully beat out Jimmy Johnson but..the best thing...I had him in my Pick 3 Nascar league...2nd week in a row I had the winner......AND.. Drew won the "Dancing with the Stars".  I was pulling for him etc and very very glad he won..
This is a good week for TV.  None of the networks are doing door to door re-runs this week.  The Olympics are mercifully over.  This particular year for the Olympics sucked.  Go Bode...so damn proud of your non medal performance. And so appreciate the fact you went to the Olympics to have fun.  Cause you sure didn't make too many Amercians proud of you're performance....
Enough of that..
Tonight...Apprentice starts anew..Evidently "The Donald" will now be on on Monday's...That might be fine too.  I've always had to TIVO him before.  Of course I don't know if I can stay away and watch until 10 but just in case...its on..
For baseball fans..."Baseball Tonight" is on tonight.  That may be the first episode of this year...That is such a good sight..Signs of Spring..mmm. 
Finally, for the Curling fan, there is a Curling show on ESPN2 tonight, right before Baseball tonight. Of course its a repeat so you may have already seen it..I didn't want you to miss it..
It's 22 deg here right now...Sh*t....it'll be 55 today at 5 pm...Now you tell me...WHAT THE HELL DO I WEAR TODAY.............

I hope everyone who is  under bazillions of inches of snow is ok.  We got nada here...not a lick....There are pictures posted on so many sites if you want to see...here are a few

NASCAR.....For non-Nascar fans... The Daytona 500 is next Sunday.  That is the sign that spring is just around the corner....and they had qualifying yesterday...Jeff Burton won the pole.  I consider that great.  I really like him and am glad to see the Childress team may have turned it around.........
BB..  The Vols MENS team beat Georgia and Georgia Saturday.  18-3...Auburn is up Wed night at Auburn.  This team is fun to watch and they never give up...The Lady Vols lost...that is not good.
Last night I had trouble getting to sleep so I put the little TV on USA to watch Law and Order SUV that run all evening.  Now, I didn't start watching any L & O shows until last year.  Not a one...and guess what....the damn show was one I'd seen.  I don't watch the ones on USA either.  Last night was a first....Isn't that always the story....
Anyone want to go hunting with our Vice President?   huh?  What was that?  Running like hell aren't you..............me too.
TV tonight....Monday's stink in my book but not this Monday..........The Westminster Dog show is tonight.  I love dog shows and especially this one.  I'll have to TIVO it. I have no doubt that I'll fall asleep but I'll surely enjoy watching...
One more thing....( I can put this here and Miss Zoot can't take it down)  To the two people who have picked on her without knowing a darn thing about her. You are plain idiots.  Amy and Pat are their names and, of course, too chicken to leave an email address or a url.  Pat seems to think LilZ is in danger..  Holy sh*t.  Wandering around the internet, find a blog via Google while you are doing your daughters homework,and attacking Miss Zoot..Good god..I'll say the one thing that enters my mind when I read stuff like that be it Amalah, Rockstar Mommy or Zoot..... Mornin'

First full week....in what seems like forever.  and we just thought last week of four days was long.  I know..."Grammy quit whining for goodness sakes, its only Monday" and you're right.  After the weekend from hell, i.e. being sick as a dog, I was sleeping beautifully when the alarm went off this morning and could still be doing that probably until noon.  And, I was in bed before 9 and asleep by 9:30.......Oh well, this coffee had better kick in soon........
Condolences to all Bengals fans.  Losing your QB after two plays in a game just plain su*ks.  Congrats to N.England fans, Redskins fans, Panther fans and Steeler fans....Next week should be very interesting..........
Why is Las Vegas the second fattest city in the US?  I've never been there..
It's 57 degrees right now....at 6:20 am.....thank you weather gods and you may keep it up because my heat bill is nice and low and Maxi and I love it like this...

AHHHH.....Less than a week and I'm convinced I have all the time in the world to do what I need to do.  HA...
I'm taking Maxi to the groomers this morning to get him all gussied up for our visit to family.  He hates that stuff but such is life, especially a dogs.  It's 33 deg outside, which I think is a bit low for this time of the year.  Dude on TV says it'll be even colder tomorrow.  I guess its good that Maxi is going today.  One thing he liked about his grooming is, I take him in around 7:15 am and pick him up right after lunch and he comes back to the office and spends the afternoon there.  Everyone there loves him and he loves the attention...Our "phone lady" absolutely spoils him worse than I do.  One time she ordered him an little hamburger when we ordered our lunch.  Now..you tell me Who does my dog love at work?   Actually, love may be the wrong word., try adore...heheh
I'm thinking traffic shouldn't be too bad this morning right?  Don't a lot of people take this week off for vacation?  School is out..right...? It should probably be a little slow at work also...Maybe
I just heard on the TV that Duke Power still has 50,000 people in North Carolina with no power from last week's ice storm.  and...they said they may have it on tomorrow ,,,  or not.  Ice storms just plain suck.  Give me snow any day.  I'm sure most of the outage is in the mountains in western NC.  Talk about totally messing up Christmas week..and freezing your butts off with no heat.....grrr
Football........congrats to NY Giants, Chicago, and to all of the people on my fantasy team.  Ah yes, although it may be too late, I surely had a big week..  By the way, did you happen to notice the weather last night in Chicago?  OMG ....no matter how much I might love my football team I would NOT have been at that game......

Monday(Survivor spoiler)

Monday....this one is particularly good since I still have it off.  Also good since Survivor ran  so late last night..  Do you agree with me?  Danni cleans up much better than I thought she would.  After all, Stephenie was supposed to clean up great.  She is a beauty not cleaned up but Danni..........Whooo...I think she didn't like that lipstick a bit.  She was driving me nuts with that.  I know I said I didn't want Danni to win, but when Stephenie acted like a whoos by crying after the immunity challenge....well, I then rooted for Danni to take Rafe and leave Steph.  I swear, I think the crying etc was done so Danni would take her.  I don't know, I'm just glad that Danni won...and my opinion of Rafe changed drastically during the last two episodes. so I'm glad he didn't win. 
Oh well,,,,,,,,,,,off to pack boxes so I can ship them...and do Christmas cards....Have a great day everyone..................

So, since I didn't win I guess i should go to work.  Understand this, if I were to ever win the lottery...I really don't think you'd here "No, I'm not going to quit my job" out of my little lips....More like "I'm outta here NOW"...Just a morning thought.....
<=====  Look at that crap....That is snow, forcasted for Tennessee in December.  They just said that if it was any colder (39 deg) here it would already be snowing...and..even thought its 39 right now...This is the warmest it'll be all day so we can expect this to turn to snow....great.

I don't have anything really exciting to pass on.  I tend to be even more boring in the winter than I am in the warm weather.  Maxi and I don't even come close to liking the cold.
The Cubs s*ck..........Could NOT even get Furcal.  Let him go to the Dodgers.  I'm so ticked off right now.  So much for the theory that if the White Sox won the series the Cubs would have to go get good players...I'd like to take that cell phone Jim Hendry walks around with in his ear and put it.................well, you know...He and Dusty have just worked miracles with the Cubbies, haven't they...grrrrrr

A Charlotte, NC, lawyer purchased a box of very rare and expensive
cigars, then insured them against fire, among other things. Within a
month, having smoked his entire stockpile of these great cigars and
without yet having made even his first premium payment on the policy,
the lawyer filed claim against the insurance company.

In his claim, the lawyer stated the cigars were lost "in a series of
small fires." The insurance company refused to pay, citing the obvious
reason that the man had consumed the cigars in the normal fashion. The
lawyer sued.... and WON!

In delivering the ruling, the judge agreed with the insurance company
that the claim was frivolous. The judge stated nevertheless, that the
lawyer "held a policy from the company in which it had warranted that
the cigars were insurable and also guaranteed that it would insure them
against fire, without defining what is considered to be unacceptable
fire" and was obligated to pay the claim.

Rather than endure lengthy and costly appeal process, the insurance
company accepted the ruling and paid $15,000 to the lawyer for his loss
of the rare cigars lost in the "fires."

After the lawyer cashed the check, the insurance company had him
arrested on 24 counts of ARSON! With his own insurance claim and
testimony from the previous case being used against him, the lawyer was
convicted of intentionally burning his insured property and was

It sort of stinks the first day you have to get up with the alarm clock, after an entire week...I body does not even want to move...and to make things worse my sinus's are going berserk.. It only went down to 58 last night so I opened up the window and now I can hardly breathe...Ahhhhh  the beauty of nature (aachewwww)
Did you watch "Desperate Housewives" last night...?  If so, is George dead? or will George die?  If so, does that make Bree a murderer this time? I don't care at all about Terry Hatchers daddy............grrr..and how about the nun?  Now that could turn into one heck of a story line...........
The Seahawks/Giants game was fantastic yesterday.  I was pulling for the Giants so it was disappointing and I'm wondering how long the Giants kicker will have a job after blowing three chances to win the game,  but it was a good game for sure.
Ok, here's a question for "House" fans.  Did you see the show the other week where he wants to read his ex's file in the shrinks office?  Of course the cabinet is locked so he tilts up the cabinet, puts his finger under the corner of the side the lock is located and pops it open.........Of course, I assumed that was a joke.  You know, that it wasn't real.   And how wrong was I?   Very wrong.  According to many items I've read, it actually does work.  Now how many people are going to try that to get into files they're not supposed to.....verrrrry  interesting..

Today?

I know I shouldn't start that but really, NikkiZ is due tomorrow.  One of my children was a day early and the other was one day late.  I went to bed last night thinking it may be then.  I don't think it's wishful thinking on my part.  It's not an inconvenience for me, with Zoot being pregnant....Although, I do feel very bad for her or anyone who is that pregnant and has to just wait....Lets hope it today. 

It's cold again.  FYI its 43 degrees now and only going up to 61.  Where the hell is fall? I'll have to pile stuff on the bed for Maxi to stay warm today. 

Sports:  What a hell of a game for the N.Y. Giants fans.  I was so glad to see Eli Manning pull out that win.  .  I'm afraid the Titans are just cooked.  They're rebuilding and they're starting at the very basement.  When your starting QB stays home and the back up gets a concussion well........not so good.  The only NFL team that I totally dislike, the Ravens, got beat.....hah....by the Bears.....Sometimes things like that can just make your day....because...

Baseball sure didn't make my day.  I may not make it through the day today.  I stayed up and watched that game last night and got my little heart broken when the Astro's came back and then Lidge gave up yet another home run in the 9th inning to lose the game.  I'm not saying that the Astro's still can't win, but the White Sox ain't the Cardinals.  It's going to take a LOT of work and Lidge may want to go home.  Damn. No comment on the umps call before the grand slam. grrrrr

What the heck am I supposed to wear to work today?  Any ideas?  We really don't have a strict dress code unless we're having "visiting dignitaries".  We can wear jeans and t-shirts but its too damn cold for t-shirts.  I have some sweat shirts but its going up to 60 today so then what? 

Best wishes to all in Wilma's path.  I hope the people who didn't evacuate don't regret it.  If she doesn't drop to a 1 or less I hope she just speeds right thru the state and out to the Atlanta.....

Just plain Monday

You know, I can't think of a thing to call Monday...I mean, yeah, there's first day of the week...boring...maybe its because I'm still sleepy....

Yankees won last night.  Now they all have to fly to the west coast and play tomorrow.   I do believe that nineteen inning games yesterday killed me for baseball for a while.  They just came on the radio and asked one of those damn trivia questions.   What do Chris Burke (the one that hit the home run to win the game) and Aaron Boone have in common.?  Then, of course, they broke for commercial...If they come back on and give an answer I'll fill it in.  I don't think it was the game winning home runs.  That would be too easy.**** Answer:  The only rookies who hit walk off home runs, in playoff series, who did not start the game but came in as pinch runners late in the game***

By the way.  The maintenance man came by on Sat to check out my various "water" issues.  I got home Friday and no one had been here.  I called the landlord and he didn't remember any of my phone calls.  Imagine that.. And I had the nerve to think he might have been drunk when I talked to him....Anyway, the guy gets here about 30 mins before the UT/GA football game.  Walks in muttering "Geeze he called me today and I was planning on staying home and watching the game".  I didn't tell him that I called the first time a week ago...I also knew, that even if it could be fixed Saturday.  It wouldn't be. Not on the day of a televised UT game..........So...I'm getting a new dishwasher..Whoopie.........But you know, I'm spoiled.  I don't like hand washing dishes. I run the dishwasher through twice a week.  This hand washing everything sucks.  I don't even have a drain rack.  But I will enjoy the dishwasher when it gets here.  This week is all he told me....The one that is here is the original dishwasher.

Enough boring news.  Have a nice Columbus Day everyone.  I hope you have the day off.   I don't..

I spent this morning visiting with my sister and things are a bit busy here at work.  I just love my little sister.  We had such a nice visit, even if the Titans did their best to ruin it...........grrrrr.

Get up and go?

I have no idea where mine is, can I borrow yours please?  This computer, although very useful is slower than sh*t....Seriously.  I'm grateful it runs but it requires a bit of patience and probably slow posts....

Its raining now and 71 degrees.  Now its not supposed to get any hotter than the high 70's. We'll see.  I believe that the rain is a visit from Rita...damn storm.

Did you watch Desperate Housewives?  It was wonderful, or that's my opinion.  That show is so damn good..  What the sam hill are they going to do with the story line with Susan and Mike?  I was looking forward to them living together.   And boy, can Bree glare?  She most certainly has the meanest look I"ve ever seen on a face.  Was that not a hoot when she changed Rex's tie, and her friends didn't think it was odd....I loved Lynette's interview and I hate the woman who was there.  I can't think of her name, but you know there's a major hate/hate story brewing there.........I know one thing, if I was Gabrielle I would want to know who the father of my baby was.  That will also be a season long story line....I enjoyed that fact that its back on......

DId you see the commercial for "Lost".  For anyone who might have missed the first episode, its on right before the regular one on Wednesday night so you can catch up....

Now, as far as tonight goes.  Well, the Vols are playing LSU tonight at LSU.  At least so far they are.  The Vols haven't left yet.  There's no place to stay in Baton Rouge so they'll have no place to stay and no fans.  No one from here can go there and find a room.  We'll see how it goes.  I don't think the Vols can win with not specific quarterback.  Fulmer keeps naming Ainge as the starter but that's all.  If he gets too mistake prone, he puts in Clausen.  I personally don't like that so we'll just have to see how it works/doesn't work tongiht...

I don't really have much today.  I'm trying to decide what to do about AFLAC.  That dude is coming to the office on Thursday to try to sign us up and I seriously would like to know more about it.  But, either no one who reads my blog has it or knows anyone who has it or knows anything about it or no one reads my blog.  Lets go with number one...   yeah, that's the ticket.  Everyone is out of town for 2 weeks or so...I like that one better.

In the interest of boring everyone with my "nothings" I checked out a few "headlines" and decided to share them with you all...

First...This little tidbit about Kenny and Renee...After all of that time, four whole months (and they said it wouldn't last) she uses the word "fraud" in the filing for annulment.(sp). Although neither on of them have said much about why she used that word, here's the article.  I must say, Kenny is from around here and he sure is well liked.  Renee may want to reconsider using that word if she wants to continue to be popular in this area...Just saying

Second...The Apprentice premiers this week.  I like that show sort of but I'm not sure if it had any competition that I'd watch it.  It can get rather boring at the end.  In that line of thought, it looks like The Donald may have decided to spice it up.  (Did you see him singing and dancing last night on the Emmy's?  What a hoot!!)

Lastly, (Come on, I've got to go to work!!)  Here's the answer to loneliness. A little pricey but kinda cute, don't you think?  I'm thinking the "hug/kissy" factor might leave a little but to be desired but seems to fill every other need , so to speak.

I don't know how much anyone is going to get done in the next day or two.  Watching Katrina's progress is about all of us will be paying attention.  Right now I'm watching CNN for a change...MTV for old people have a habit of getting on my nerves. Plus..Anderson Cooper is reporting live right now so he's a great way to start the day

.  Have you heard the phrase "toxic gumbo" in relation to New Orleans after the flooding?  This is turning into the worst natural disaster in a long time if ever...I feel so badly for anyone who lives in the immediate path of this monster.

I wish I could think of something to talk about but all I did yesterday was watch "MTV for old people"...all day.  I don't know why so don't ask.   When something like this happens and it isn't that far away...usually brings out the "addiction" habit to that station..

I don't know why, but why is it that Monday's are always so difficult.  It really shouldn't be so much worse than any other day but goodness it seems like its difficult to get up and moving and it takes more coffee than other morning.

I turns out that this "recovery" thing, is good in that you can get your computer to be a computer again but...........You know...passwords etc...just gone....  At least in some instances they're gone and in others they're not.   I do need to get my volume to work. I listen to the radio on the internet quite a bit so again....any ideas would be helpful...

I don't have much going on today.  Actually, lately, I haven't had anything.  This damn heat just sucks...Totally.  I'm so ready for football and for the month of August to just end....grrr...............

Well, I supposed I've slept worse in my life.  I just can't remember when.  There wasn't much going on between about 1:30 am and 3:00..and I didn't solve one problem in that time period either....

Sat night I had the worst toe cramps. Goodness. They acted like they wanted to point to the ceiling rather than down towards the floor.  Many years ago, if I was barefoot or in flat shoes and my toes cramped, if I could just slip my foot into a high heel, it would go away ..but this..... It felt so strange.  I can't even describe it but guess what worked?  a flat heeled shoe.  You know, like a dress shoe, but flat..I don't know if it scares the hell out of my toes or what but it made them go right back to normal and guess what?   kept those baby's right where they belonged all night.  You've got it, I slept (use that term loosely) with that damn shoe on all night.  That's how bad the foot felt Sat night........(aren't you glad I shared that with you?)

Enough of my personal life.  Who the hell owns the Chicago Bears?  Did last year not teach you a lesson? You had NO quarterback last year when Grossman got hurt..Remember?  and so what did you do about it?  Nothing...Nothing and now you have a Rex Grossman with a broken ankle who won't play for 4 months at least.  Now understand this..I know us Titan's fans are going to probably have a bad year this year but.............AT LEAST THEY'RE NOT THAT STUPID....and I'm not even a Bears fan......God, don't Chicago people have enough crap to deal with being Cubs fans?

Speaking of which.  The Cubs just beat the Cardinals for the 3rd out of 4 games this week.  It's one of the few things that can make this season tolerable..

Sorry to hear about Peter Jennings.  Although I didn't/don't watch ABC news much, he still was one of the "three" we had available to us to listen to,  before cable existed. As a matter of fact, I don't remember anyone else doing ABC news.  Damn cigarettes, Rest in Peace Peter

Protests over the weekend near hear. They were protesting the fact that we should never have dropped the bomb on Hiroshima.  Never said a thing about the people that dropped those bombs on Pear Harbor that Sunday morning...Not a word...

Shuttle landing postponed until tomorrow.  Mercifully, it's the weather and not some flaw.  At least not yet.

All Day..

Mornin....I know its Monday, I'm turning over a new leaf and trying to make sure I at least start the day on the upswing. 

Maxi and I didn't have a really busy weekend.  Of course Sat. was taken up with us  me being so excited about the neighbors being gone.  We also met a new friend for Maxi..(sure). Its a little beagle and his name is Oliver.  I'm going to try to get his picture when I see him again but they looked so cute smelling each other. What the hell is it with doggies..? You know, why do they always have to be smelling their "privates" so to speak. ?  I guess it goes with the same theory of smelling every single blade of grass before deciding where to deposit their "treasures"...Oliver lives across the road from me and I'll tell you this. His mama had better quit taking him into the neighbors front yard to poop....I live in the back of our building but it's been two or three times I've gone out and she's has Oliver "depositing" in neighbors front yard.  There's plenty of places to take him (them) which won't bother anyone.  I'm absolutely convinced that someone is going to express their opinions, the first time they step in  it...!!

Trucker Bob is back from his trip. It didn't take as long as the wanted but he made it home safely.  Drop by and tell him "hi" so he doesn't feel lonely...

I'm missing posts from two friends.  Does anyone know where Deb and Laura are.?  Is New Jersey still there?  I haven't seen any evidence of posting activity at all.....Just color me "mom"........I've transferred some of my "motherhood" instincts to them so I won't drive Zoot nuts  nuttier..........

By the way, don't forget now....The season finale is tonight for "Hells Kitchen"..It's a two hour episode and mercifully starts at eight.......ENJOY Chef fans.....I'm going to miss that show!!!!

Not too bad

Well, I learned one lesson.  Don't go to sleep in the middle of a Cubs game...Toss and turn all night until finally, I heard the score of the game.  Heard that it was won in the 10th inning off of a grand slam home run.  Of course, you'd think that I'd go to sleep happy..  Oh no......I wanted to hear and see all about it....I should have just stayed up til it was over.  Cubs were leading when I went to sleep...grrrr

I got a slew of new pet pictures in e-mail over the weekend so now I have a whole new selection of cute pictures to use at random..whooo....

Oh. I almost forgot...This was the second weekend in a row that the neighbors didn't complain.  Of course, when I came home from the store Sat am, I could hear their music playing as I walked by their unit.  Boy, I was just waiting if they complained about my talk radio, but nothing.  I don't know if their son was there or not. I was also wondering if they figured out it wasn't me making all that noise.  There are four units in a building and they all adjoin in the middle so we're all bordered by two units..Oh yes, and right next door to their apt, with only a narrow area between them, were some loud music playing young people moving in...heheh...I might start looking pretty good to them.

Have you ever heard of an over the counter med called Percogesic?  Its really good and I like to have some around.. Well....Walmart sells an off brand of it so here I go.  My Walmart is remodeling and I couldn't find the damn stuff anywhere. Not the off brand or the real stuff...so I had to go to Walgreens anyway so I thought I'd just get it there...........Oh yeah, they had it....at $10.00 a bottle!!!  Now, I haven't bought any in a long time but I don't ever remember it being quite that high or even close for that matter.  Didn't get it.  I don't think I could be in that much pain (knock on wood).. I had to go to the Walmart that's NOT remodeling since I got sick of searching my Walmart for stuff.  I get up early Sunday am and head on out.  They had the Percogesic, and the off brand Genosec.  The damn Percogesic was $6. 75 and the Genosec was about $1.00 cheaper............What the hell........Now we can see how the make up the profit on prescriptions that BX-BS makes them sell at a specific price........Rather annoying don't ya think..

May I just say, that Tiger Woods has got to be the best "active" golfer in the world at this point.. I absolutely love watching him compete, and win. Also, I'm not a golfer, don't even know how to golf, but the devil himself must have created the St. Andrew course.  I know links golf is different than regular golf but that has to be hell. Did you know that his mother was on vacation in London the day of the bombings?  She was across the street from where one of the bombs went off.  You could tell that has him shaken up...

I have solved the "nasty" neighbor problem.  At least I think I have.  You see,I didn't hear  a word out of them this weekend, and I wasn't particularly quiet either.  As a matter of fact, I was a little bit louder just to test and see.  So here's my theory.  Every time they have complained about my "noise" is when his son is there. i.e. every other weekend.  They did not have the boy this weekend.  They were up and about early, in and out all day so it has something to do with the 10 year old boy.  Now, that doesn't mean I can stop them from complaining but at least I know when they do complain.  We'll see if I'm right. This coming weekend they have him again.......

Did you watch the ESPY's last night?  You know, the award that validates every single athlete?  What, you didn't? MMM.. I didn't either, but while I was changing the stations, they had Peyton Manning giving an award so I stopped and looked..  Where did his neck go?  I swear, his neck looks like a tree trunk.   I never noticed that in the entire time he played for UT.  And believe me, his picture was in the papers all the time...As a matter of fact, his neck looked thicker than his head......Odd...............I know, get a life, please.

One more thing, Tony Stewart is going to kill himself if he doesn't stop climbing up the fence of the racetrack when he wins.  I'm serious, I was watching him climb up and it looked so dangerous.  I'll be surprised if Joe Gibbs, or Home Depot doesn't issue an order for him to stop, effective immediately.  He's worth too much money to them for sure...and..

Michael Waltrip won't be driving for DEI next year.  He said it was mutual.  I understand but I wish he'd stay with them.  I just don't think he can win anywhere else.  He's also out of the chase, I believe.  He's too far back.... Do you watch "Inside Nextel Cup" on Monday nights?  I've watched it for years.  It's hosted by Alan Bestwick, and the panel is Kenny Schrader, Johnny Benson and Michael Waltrip.  It has always been a great show, its always taped the Monday after the race so they talk about that weeks race.   Alan Bestwick lost his job as host, and the poor guy lost the job as the host of the racing shows too. He's now number one pit reporter.  That damn Dave Despain(sp) is taking over the Monday night show.  I can not stand him...and..they're letting Johnny Benson go and replacing him with Kevin Harvick.    I don't think I like this version of Nascar...as a matter of fact, I know I don't...

Its Monday and I have nothing to write about.  Oh goodness that could turn out to make for a very long week, couldn't it?

I did hear that San Antonio won the game last night, and I heard the way they did it.  Now.  I don't watch basketball, don't pay attention to basketball, don't like basketball..Got that..But I do know this.  Robert Horry is one player that you DO NOT leave unguarded at the end of a close playoff game.  You just don't, and the Pistons did and guess what he did?  Yep..what he always does and of course he plays for San Antonio..Detroit's coach needs his head examined. 

All I can say is if I knew that, and it surely sunk in by osmosis, shouldn't Detroit have figured that out?  How much are they paying that coach anyway?

Good Morning Everyone....

Good Morning and here I am in Huntsville Alabama....LilZ and I have not decided what to do today so as of right now, we're doing nothing...He's already played in the sprinkler and eaten some breakfast....One of these days we may go out for breakfast or maybe lunch....I'm good as far as location stuff..I know where Walmart and Target are, so all is good!! So we may wander out after a while..

Some things here that aren't where I live.....I went out yesterday morning around 10 to get the paper...(It's a Sunday thing) and I stopped in Walmart to get specific Diet cokes...and guess what I saw, ready to be purchased?   Wine....yep wine....bottles, boxes, all kinds of stuff and I could have bought it then...10 am on Sunday.....Where I live, which really likes to think they're "forward"...You not only can't buy wine in any establishment but a "Liquor" store, ( and they sell liquor only, if you want beer, you have to go to Walmart etc)  and "Liquor" stores are not open on Sunday's at all....No..not after 12, not ever on a Sunday...Beer? well, you can buy it on Sunday, but not until after noon....and here I was in Walmart and could buy wine if I needed it and it was cheaper then it is at home..............whoooo...I want to live here....

I'm liking central time zone...Although I must say, I thought that the sun rising at 6:30 at home sucked...Well, its 5:30 here.  That would be AM..and of course Maxi judges everything based on  the light outside...hhhmmmm 

Well, My wonderful grandson just came and brought out a thing I brought.  It is a scale model kit of Buster Gundam....So we're off to work on it..A friend of mine sent it down here. I'll send pictures if we get done!!!.You all have a great day....

Just Four Days

Thank goodness.  I know I'm whining about work, and I know I'm lucy to have a job...but who really loves getting up and going to work after a three day weekend...Hope everyone had a nice holiday.  The weather was beautiful here.

Did pretty good as far a cooking out.  The ribs were good, but the charcoal crust on the pork chops last night and Friday.....just a bit too well done.  Maxi didn't really like them...Bit more practice is needed...

Desperate Housewives was good last night, don't you think?  Paul Young makes such an evil person, but who do you think he's going to do in next?  I can't think of her name, but the one who took Zach last night...I just about yelped when I saw her pull out that knife...For sure she's not her sister.  I think I like her..mmm  What is her name? Mrs. Huber's sister but that's all I can think of now...Glad they got rid of Sophie.  Didn't like her much at all. I hope she stays away. 

Lynette needs to learn to at least change the clothes before hubby comes home..Goodness if my mom (mother of 7) looked like that when my father got home.......whoo....Of course,  seven kids?  maybe cleaning up isn't such a good idea...hehe

Happy Monday everyone!!....I'm trying to start today with an uplifting attitude. I have NO idea how long it will last, but I'm giving it my best shot.

So, what did you think about "Desperate Housewives" last nigh? When was it when Julie decided she couldn't stand Andrew?  My last memory of them was when she was sneaking around to see him, what happened?  Doesn't Paul Young, make a wonderful murderer?  He's got me terrified of him, and Zach doesn't exactly inspire security, does he?  Now  you know they're not going to kill Susan, so who do you think dies?  Mike, defending Susan?  I'd hate to see him go, if it is him.

At least Gabrielle is being honest about why she doesn't want to be mother.  Being born and raised Catholic, I think its a hoot that she went to the priest and told him that.  I've never known a priest you could talk to like that and not be told that the door to hell was being held open for you...heheh.. BUT...how self centered is she,  didn't drink the champagne, did she?  Not totally selfish, is she?

I'm sorry there's only two more episodes. I really enjoy this show.

  Well since absolutely nothing happened between last night and this morning...(quiet there...) I was perusing the morning news and it seems our four footed friends may be developing a union...You decide.
