Cooler..inside

I put up the window film yesterday.  I couldn't judge much because it then got cloudy and threatened rain the rest of the day BUT. Today has been the same its been for the last 9 days.  HOT as hell and sunny.  I came home today and the house was much better than usual.  I think its actually cooler than it was when I kept the blinds closed.  The only complaint I have it that when it was not sunny yesterday it was hard to judge how dark it was outside.  So I left half of the double windows un-filmed (?) so I could see how it really was out there.  So far so good. 

It is also nice in here having the windows unblocked so I can see outside.  Gosh how I hate being closed in with no windows.  I think the dogs like it too.

Spring is on the way

Chris Mathews has a dreadful haircut.  ..sorry, he just came on and looks funny. If you listen to all the news stations the world is on the brink of extinction.  Or at least Japan is.  CNN is now saying Beaking news...explosion in Reactor 2.  I don't know if its now or a day old explosion.   The whole thing is just confusing.  I've also seen the same Tsunami films over and over.  I'm going to try Fox now and see if they're any different.  Where the hell is Keith Oberman...

You're not going to believe what I did this weekend.  Totally unlike me, actually never done by me..I dug up my garden (pitiful and done by HOA) and planted Hydranga?  and tulips,.  got a gazing ball, that is out there and I got some new lights for the edge.  It looks so pretty and will look much better when the flowers bloom.  I'll take pictures to show off my new adventure. 

BTW.  The explosion in Reactor 2 is new per Fox.  Shep is there.

Had a dreadful day at work today.  Hoping tomorrow will be much better.  A friend is going to keep my pups this weekend so I won't have to board them.  That is good.

What the he**

Good god its freaking freezing.  Our high tomorrow is going to be 30.....that's the damn high.!!  I can tell you that I am not fond of this BUT Rosco surely HATES it.  

Does anyone watch Dexter?  Did you watch it last night?  I'm about nuts with this show.  they make us addicts to this show by only showing it once a year for 13 weeks.  At least thats all I've ever seen.  I'm going to assume doing it is a mental strain. Heck watching it is.  Lumen is going to have to go, don't you think?  Quinn is going to get blamed for the murder of the one that's been following Dexter and he'll probably end up dead.  I figured that out when the blood dripped on his boot.  I'm excited to see the next episode but damnnit its the season finale.  No Dexter until next September  Grrrrrrr.   What do you think is going to happen?  Do you like Dexter?

I'm watching Holmes on Homes now.  He's re-doing a huge house for Christmas.  Isn't that an interesting switch...Dexter/Homes.  Maybe I am mad

So far so good..

Not bad if I say so myself.  I worked all day, stopped for gas on the way home, took Rosco out for a walk.  It was his usual walk too, I didn't even cut it short.  Then I weedeated the whole back yard.  PS.  Its pretty small.  It hadn't been mowed in 3 weeks, Gall bladders will do that to your lawn you know.  I was pretty sure I shouldn't be pulling/pushing a lawn mower so I just skimmed it with the weed eater so I wouldn't lose Rosco in it.  It really is very very high.  I figure for a few weeks it'll be weed eater not much else. 
Just in case you're wondering....ITS FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE SEPT 5TH....You ought to see and hear whats going on around here.  Football is finally a good thing.  I think any of us will take a season with more than 5 wins.   We know better than the championship but just as long as we make progress, we'll keep Lane baby. 
Two things you many not want to watch.  The UT/Fla game and the UT/S.Carolina.  Florida will probably  beat the you know what out of us...Its football time and all is well.

Just a few things.

• Since I've been sick since last Thursday, this is my first day back.  Ugh.  I'd like about 10 more days but I feel like that every Sunday night.

• Did  you watch Survivor?  I rooted for Cirie since those crazy woman blind sided all of the males.  Dumb a** men.  I'm not going to give it away yet.

• Cubs won Sunday, Saturday and Friday. That folks, is a good thing.

• I can not stand Kyle Bush..or his brother. Enough said about that!!
• I've been working on learning more about my camera, and more about Photoshop Elements. be prepared for photos of....my Mothers Day gift, birds and Maxi. 
• I'm starting to get ready to move.  No, I haven't been looking or anything but I've lived here 10 years. I've got a lot of stuff to just plain trash.  Maybe I'll take pics of the junk?
• I'm getting a new refrigerator today. I'll post a picture of it.  Unfortunately, its still just and apartment size but my food should be colder.  Thank god I haven't died yet. 
• I have no idea why, all of a sudden, this thing went to one line.

Monday, Monday

Sleeping this morning was so good, so good in fact that I didn't get up until late, really late.  Made it just in time for work.
There is a new show on tonight that I'm taping. Its Canterbery's (sp).  Its on Fox and a new show. If any of you watch it I'd be interested in your opinions too BUT
The reason I can't watch it is because I've found DEXTER and I love it.  He's just about the oddest person in the world and I love him!!  Have any of you watched him?  I love it. I didn't get Showtime so I never saw it on that.
On other TV thing.  I don't like one soul on BB9.  Not one.  I want them all to lose.  Well, unless they bring back Parker. I would root for him.  (The girl that does my nails hates him and says hes a real SOB on after hours...since I don't watch after hours I'm pulling for him)
Ok..here's the first new bird I've seen this year.  Its a Northern Mockingbird and I've not seen one at least this year. They're supposed to be around all year, but not my yard.  Oh yeah, and the little twit wouldn't get out from behind the poles, and when he did......he turned his back..

Here's just a little update on my weekend.,
I was supposed to go to a bridal shower.  Didn't want to do that so made up a big ol' lie about other stuff I had to do.  (I had nothing to do).  After I ran to Walmart and came home, as I was walking into the bathroom my feet started squishing as I walked across the carpet. ummmm..Then, into the bathroom and water water everywhere. (I had left the washing machine running, me the idiot).  The drainage hose had come out of the pipe and just dumped the water on the floor.. So my afternoon of peace and quiet watching the Daytona 500 went right down the tubes...Here"s my question, why did it come out of the drainage pipe?  I guess I should try it again and see if there is a blockage or did it just come out on its own.,  See, the landlord never fixes anything and if its my fault he'll sue me to fix it.  (He did that once). So my plan it to make sure its his fault before I call him.  Of course that doesn't mean he'll fix it mind you, but at least it'll cover my butt.  I suppose I could ask him to bring the stuff to put up my fence around the patio (been down since 2003), fix my deck which the boards making up the fence are falling off one at a time or even cover the black spot on the roof in the guest room, where the roof leaked. I guess on that one I'm luck to have the roof fixed.  I can not wait until I move out of this godawful place!!

No, I never get this holiday off.  Never have either ,  But today, you see, is the day I should be off so I can celebrate the birthday of the most wonderful 13 year old I know.  Today is LilZ's birthday.  Enjoy this day and never forget that I love you more than you could now.  No school????  I can think of some wonderful stuff you could do with this day being all yours!!

MONDAY AND A 5 DAY WORK WEEK!!

So, this will be the first full week Ive worked in quite a while.  Trying to use all of my vacation at the last moment had me only working 4 days for a while.  To tell you the truth 3 days  a week would be nice too. Especially if I could get paid the same!!  Oh yeah, and schools are back in session today so traveling won't be quite as easy as it has been..
And since I whined about the weather the other day, let me just explain why that kind of freezing weather gets us all krazee.  It's supposed to be 62 today and 69 tomorrow. And yes it will rain but.  It won't be freezing everywhere!!!
As far as NFL playoffs.....Giants are the only team that I was rooting for who won.. My poor little Titans just couldn't do it.  I'm going to try to be tactful here BUT.  If the Titans had a quarterback (haven't seen any evidence of VY being one!!) and some wide receivers, just 1 who wouldn't drop the da*n ball we might be ok.  Now I'm pretty sure VY is it, no matter what so they need to get him some help..  If they do get him help, we'll know whether VY is a quarterback and if all of us who think VY will never be a good QB no matter what. are wrong.  hint..hint..I don't think it'll prove us wrong..........just saying

Monday...and Raining

At least the Titians won and that's good.  I don't know if they can go undefeated but they may need to do that to make the playoffs
As for the Vols "goat balls" I think I would rather they stay home rather than play another game,   They are just so bad at times and they sure were on Saturday.  grrrrr and now LSU is going to the championship game. We, on the other hand are going to the Outback Bowl in Florida...Play at 11:00 am on New  Years day!!!! 
We raised 3500.00 at the Taste for Tots fundraiser.  This may have been the most ever so it was quite a success.  Yeah for little tots everywhere!!!!!!!

Happy Monday???

Goodness we had a loverly weekend. Please be aware I am talking about the weather NOT the Big Orange football...............It was just great and I got a lot of things done that have been put off.  We had no a/c, all the window's were open and we were happy......I hope it was nice where you are.  It's now supposed to rain all week.  Pardon me while I say  "BRING IT ON!!!!"  We need that rain so badly,
To all Cleveland Indian fans.  I'm sorry.  I know you wanted this but goodness you just can't get rid of them......If you want to root for someone.  The Rockies are one heck of team.  I'm a big fan of their 1st baseman.  He lived here, went to school here and played baseball here...oh yeah, he also backed up Peyton Manning at QB.  He's worked hard all of his life and he deserves this one.
Of course for all of the people on the East Coast it starts around 8--8:30 which, since I have a job I cant watch the whole thing? dammit.  And I wonder what'll happen when they move to Colorado? 
Well here I go off to work everyone.  Don't forget to leave an opinion on the new design.  I'll get a new banner but for now that on will have to work.......

So, what was your weekend like?  It was HOT here and its supposed to do that again today too....Happy October too.
The Cubbies got swept...Embarrassingly swept.  I watched a bit of the game and they were not even trying...I turned it off and was immenselly grateful that I didn't buy a shirt.  I decided to wait and at least see if they'd make the next level..
Maxi is better.  or at least on the right path.  Its pitiful because I have to keep yelling at him to stop scratching the sores.  He looks at me in the most annoyed look.  But at least that spot on his ear is starting to clean up...His spirit etc seems fine and he can usually find a way to sit so it doesn't hurt. 
If I can get off on Monday of next week I'm heading to Huntsville to celebrate Nikki's B'day.  Its a little early but she'll never know.  And I can't wait. 
Did I tell you we made it through the first "cut" in that  proposal I worked so hard on....Today is when the "big whigs" come into town and go make a presentation as to how wonderful we are, (which we are), and how equipped we are to handle this (which we are).  I'm not going but I do have to dress the "important people" way..
One last thing....This is the second morning in a row I've had coffee.  Not De Caf either and for some reason this makes me so very happy,  Now the days are back to normal.......
On yeah,  Titans won.........!!!!!  Vols took Geogia to dinner and sliced them up...GO VOLS!!!

Happy Monday and a question

What did you do this weekend? I had a pretty good time.  We went to a party/cookout on Saturday.  They had rigged it up so we could watch the UT/Florida game.  They're really lucky someone didn't take a bat do that thing. It was a wonderful time, the food was fantastic and the weather was perfecto!!!  The only thing was watching the Vols not only lose, but be totally embarrassing.......grrrrrr
At least when the Titan's lost it was only by 2 points and they looked good doing it....Except for that last play...Oh well.   Then, on the "you pick 'em" board I must thank Seattle for losing for me......geeze to Arkansas at that!!!  BUT on the last man standing board............I'm still on my feet!!!!  Thanks Denver.
Ok, now..I HAVE A QUESTION...Need your advice.  I'm looking at buying a new/used car..Preferably new.  I really want a small SUV.  Like Rav4, crv, preferably a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan unless you can come up with American made which needs to last for at least 10 years and still be in decent shape..  Also what about Hyundai?  I don't know much about them..Do you have one?  What do yo think?   If you don't know what to recommend do you know a site where I can find "reports" about the cars, would you let me know what it is?  I really do need your help on this one.
This project that is due Tuesday....I may finally sleep well, at least for a while........

I can not wait until "football" season.  One thing is, it means  a bit of cooler weather, and of course....Football.  They just said on the TV that the heat index for the next 8 days (Channel 8, got it?) the heat index will be around 100. Oh joy, I hate heat..I mean, I reallly HATE heat and I don't want that much of it.  Maybe I should consult w/ Mary Beth,, see what we can do..Right now, 6 AM its 76.  grrrrr
Did you watch BB..  I had it on but I may have missed some stuff but here's what I get from it...Dickey doo should go.  He's just getting too full of himself.  I'm thinking he doesn't want to leave Danielle but he's killing her efforts to play the game..
AND Good god.  Eric is so darned annoying.  It would be interesting to see what they do with no Eric....Who's going to be "Americas" playerd.  This thing is getting better and better as the  weeks go on,
Design Star.  I nearly forgot about this one..They sent home 2 players last night...and they said they'd send home 2 next week.   Am I the only person watching?  I hated that they send home the guy last night.  I liked him a lot.  I understood exactly why the woman went home. Friday I stopped drinking any sort of caffeine...Not even in tea.  My stomach is much better but good god I am so draggy.  I didn't realize ..I wish there was a little caffiene something I can take but it doesn't have to go near my stomach.
Cubs lost.  but I do have to say Congrats to Tom Glavine.  I always have liked him, I just wish he'd have gotton ths done somewere else that Wrigley

Did you watch....BB....I did, and disliking some of these people is getting easier.  Of course I've reserved the right to change my opinion...Here goes.
I've decided that Danielle is quite the fine actress isn't she.? Especially the way she broke down in the first episode.  I know that she expects her Dad to cover her back..........will she cover his? Right now I don't think so.  As far as her Dad....I just plain don't like him or anything about him.  How's that sound?  Don't know why but I don't think I'd want to get to know him or anything else......ugh
In the Joe/Dustin conflict........Right now I don't like Joe at all.  Didn't like him from the first day so Dustin has had nothing to do with that.  and right now, I think I like Dustin.  He just needs to be quiet and let Joe hang himself.....just saying
Carol/Jessica...........Carol has sense................Jessica is an idiot and very annoying..That's all on that one.
What the hell was it with Jen and the picture?  How vain can one human be?  It's one of those things that, had she kept her mouth shut, no one would have noticed..
Ok, I do think here has to be a rule that anyone crying on this show over pictures, or missing their families ...goes home.  When was BB ever filmed with your family nearby......How stupid.  I hate to see anyone cry on this show. And no, not because I cry too....because it makes me want to throw something at them..........grrrrr.

Did you watch Food Network Star?  I hate that Paul got sent home.  I really liked him but I do agree that he probably would be annoying on a TV show......You know who I don't like too much on this show ?  The judge, her name may be Susie but she's the only judge who isn't a "star" ..She's the producer.  Gets on my nerves..

Merry Monday or OGIM

Oh crap....Why am I saying that you ask?  Well, I got up this morning and went to use the bathroom.  As I was just sittin' there trying to wake up, from my closet came little a little mouse...yep.  I do believe he was more terrified than I was.  I really wasn't terrified,just wondering why he was upstairs in my apartment. You know....how/why? Off he ran out the door and on to......well, I hope it was on to OUT.. Living in an apartment complex, usually I have an bug problem when someone moves but evidently "Maurice" lived next door and they suddenly moved now he has no home.   I'm not going to set a trap yet.  If he can get the hell out of here I'll give him a chance.  I don't hate live mice as much as I think I'd hate dead mice bodies ...That could change but for now that's the way it is.   Run Maurice...RUN!!!

Tonight on TV is Dancing with Stars and Heroes for me but there is also a Two and a Half Men marathon on CBS (Wonder what they're going to do with the half when he grows up?).  If you're wondering..updating the sidebar is annoying so I'm not putting this on the sides any more.

Every bit a Monday

Yesterday was a very nice Mothers Day.  I got three very meaningful phone call thus reminding me how very lucky I am and to quite whining....SO...for now I'm not whining..
Of course.....Survivor has totally taken my mind off of Mothers Day. All of this decision conversation about Dreamz's decision.  See, if you ask me there was no decision to be made.  He had promised YaoMan the immunity when he took the truck and in my opinion was that's what he should have done.  There was no decision to be made when he won, he "promised to God" that he would give it to YaoMan....I'm so damn glad that he didn't win.  And let me say this, I'm watching the reunion show now and I don't like him any better now than I did last night.  Way to go Earl.....
I guess I'd better go get ready for work now that I know what happened on Survivor (Sorry Hoss).  I'm sad that's its over.  It did make Thursday nights pretty good....

Well,for those of you who read Zoot and know we're related, explain how I got that darned bug her family has had.  The only thing could be is that we (LilZ) and I were together 2 wks ago at the marathon.  This kind of stinks and I have to go to work.  The project that I worked on all week is due tomorrow but must be emailed today.  No one can access my computer files but me...I may come home very early.
I hate who won Amazing Race last night..I can't believe I watched all of that show for those damn winners.......grrrr
***I need some help if you don't mind.  I have Adobe Photoshop 5 and suddenly, when I try to save a photo after some adjustments i.e. crop, color etc I get this message: ""Could not complete your request because of program error"  Does anyone have any idea what that could mean or where I could go to get the answer.  I re-installed the program and it didn't help. I sure would appreciate any ideas anyone has on this one cause it really ticked me off last night.
Glad Roger went to the Yankees.  Now my Cubs don't have to deal with him anymore...

My Weekend...

No, it wasn't terribly exciting at all but I did accomplish one thing I've been putting off for a few months...I've got the wireless laptop printing on the printer with no wires attached.  I spend forever yesterday afternoon trying to get it hooked up via the instructions in the book.  It was making NO sense what so ever and it wasn't working.  There was some password I needed and didn't remember it.  It wasn't what I thought it was so.....I decided to set it up as a wired LAN doo hickey and if I had to, just move the laptop to the desk and plug it in.  So i did, and before I hooked up the doo hickey I decided to print an email just to see what happened...........That SOB worked.   So now I can print from the laptop to the printer from anywhere in the house.  Now, those of you who know all there is to know about this stuff this was probably easey but remember, I don't know anything about this stuff.  Everything I've ever learned is self taught, therefore, possibly very dangerous.   So, I did it and now I have to stop printing everything I see.....I DID IT!!!!  Whoooo.....
Next. Amazing Race.  I was so glad that Danny and Oswald didn't go home.  They're my favorites.  If they did, I might have to root for the beauties, or Charla...and the thought of Mirna winning about sickens me
I really dislike Eric and Danielle. Don't tell me he wouldn't have yielded someone if he had to and Danny and Oswald at least had a good reason.  Although, I think they could have gotton the money and just promised the "blondes" they wouldn't "yield" them...

Merry Monday?

Well, after a great weekend it looks like Monday is going to be just as nice.  It's 64 now which is hotter than the normal high this time of year.  I'm running the AC which is kind of ticking me off but I can't leave doors and windows open here all day..I'm not complaining but it is a bit early, even here, to turn on the air!!!  It's going to be closer to normal in a few days..
I'm going to the Dr today.  I've had just about all of this feeling like crap and this damn cough is keeping me up half the night.  I didn't cough this much when I smoked.
Any chance of me winning money from this basketball tournament was shot dead yesterday.  I do feel bad for Oregon but not N. Carolina.  Congrats to the Lady Vols!!  I'm sorry they had to beat Marist but then again, not that sorry.  Our Lady Vols are wonderful..

It's Monday and the VOLS are going to the Sweet 16!!!!  This is the first time since 2000 and how exciting is this for our basketball program that usually stinks up the joint.  What a fantastic game.  Only one complaint from me.  They play Thursday night at 9:57 PM EST.  Now what the hell is that about?  They're Tennessee...You know.  Eastern Time Zone...and most of us WORK for a living.  Why don't they put teams from the West coast on at 10 pm EST.  That way everyone can watch their teams.  Idiots.........
Did you watch AR last night?  I'm discovering that I don't like "reality all-star" series.  I'm glad the people that lost got to stay. They're just about my favorites so far.
Off to work...It's 32 today...High of 65 and beginning Wed it'll be in the 70's for until next week...WHOOOOOO

Ok, so you wake up at 12:30 or so and can't get back to sleep, so around 2:30ish take a big gulp of codeine cough medicine..........Feel like crap in am....grrr  Oh yeah and I was rather hungry so I munched on peanuts...Fasting blood sugar shows it too....eeekkk
My friend/boss having gastric bypass surgery this morning.  Lets face it he's not in the best of health if he has to have that surgery.  He said the Dr told him it was such a necessity to have this.  Do me a big favor please.  Say a prayer for him, please,  I know he's a bit uptight or in other words...Scared to death. 
Pray for him please, he's literally one of the most wonderful people on this planet and we don't want anything to happen to him...

Beautiful Monday

Good Morning everyone.  I've been gone from blogging most of the weekend.  It's been one odd one. 
I lost my cell phone on Saturday.  Folks, that's my only phone.  I don't have a a land line.  Mercifully Wally was having a sale on Tracfone's so I bought one and at few minutes card.  The thought of not having a phone was a bit scary.  I thought for sure I had dropped the phone at the Nail salon.  It was closed until Monday. I went by the grocery store and they hadn't found it so I went to the Cingular place and de activated my phone.  I was so lonesome without my phone.  I have thousands and thousands of minutes.  I have no idea who I would have called but what was getting me was I couldn't call anyone.  So, Sunday am I decided to call Food  City again and guess  what...WHOOO they had it.  How wonderful was that?!!  So, you ask..who did I call?  No one but Zoot called me and I got to talk to her and that is always good.  That was the biggest event of my weekend. 
They just said on the TV that "Pacman" may get tossed.  It's so bad that he's so good in football and just can't straighten out his life.  As a fan, I'd rather not cheer for a team with a  guy who knocks around women on it.  Personal ya know, so goodness please get rid of him...

Good Mornin'

It's Monday and a holiday.Well, not for me..It's Monday but its not a holiday. So off to work I go happily and in a good mood.   How's that.  ?
Did you watch Daytona 500?  It was one heck of a good race.  Harvick, who won, is not my favorite driver but he's not my most unfavoritetest driver either.  Most of the one I don't like were out of the race. i.e. Kurt Bush.  I can't stand him.  Not a lick and I openly root against him and his brother (who suffers from just being Kurt's bother).  To you long time fans.....they do to me what the word "Bodine" used to do.  I was actually pulling for Mark Martin to win.  I don't like him much either but it looked like it was going to be him or Kyle Bush and in that respect it's Mark Marting but then.  all of a sudden...here comes that Pennzoil car up on the outside like a bat out of hell,and won it. It was very exciting and I was screaming at the screen.  Great race,ok result............
How about Amazing Race?  Did you like it?  I was first annoyed as hell that it didn't start until 8:30 pm.  I knew this was going to happen when CBS moved it to Sunday night...It's going to happen probably every Sunday night through NCAA Basketball season... The people that went home, were not my least favorite but I'm having a dreadful time remembering them.  Rob and Amber have to go.  Who in the Sam Hill ever thought people would root for them?  I don't know anyone that likes them. I suppose they're there for people who'll watch praying they don't win. 
Did anyone watch Anderson Cooper fall in love with Kenny Chesney last night?

OMG..Its Monday

Ok, here's my take on this.....Super Bowl should be played on Saturday night, not Sunday...Just saying...See when Peyton won last night I had to watch the "get happies" too and every single one of them.  I don't think I saw them all but I sure do feel like it right now!!
I'm quite thrilled for Peyton.  He seems like a nice young man.  I don't know him personally but while he was here in K'town he was quite the guy and now, no matter what HE FINALLY WON THE BIG ONE!!!!  Bye old Monkey, go find someone else's back to jump on.
One more thing...Congrats to Tony Dungy.   He seems like on of those people who are just good.  Good from way deep down inside and that victory couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I know it won't make his private hell any better to live with but for a moment he was really, really smiling.  Very very good......
And, I didn't have a vote but I think Addai may very well have been the MVP. It's okay that Peyton got it but maybe they should have split it...Just saying
Sorry for Bears fans and many many congrats to all Colts fans.............

It's f'ing freezing here this morning.  It's 12....12 for god sakes.  and the dude on TV keeps saying "It'll make Spring feel so much better"...idiot.  I hope my little car can handle this ...
Ok folks, its SuperBowl week and I am so very excited. Superbowl week is wonderful and sad.  Sad because its the end of the football season.  Wonderful because, it just is.  And when you're rooting for one team specifically it's fantastic. 
Tiger Woods played is first tournament of the year yesterday.  And while no one was looking (yeah, right) he came from behind and just won the damn thing. It was fantastic...But it wasn't football..
One of my most favorite movies is "Apollo 13".  I've seen that thing at least 15 times.  I've always figured that a movie that can make me cry at the end, when I lived through it and remembered it, was pretty damn good, don't ya think?  Anyway, it was a CD set of two and it had the "making of Apollo 13" and all other kinds of extras and it was fascinating.  Since there wasn't anything else on TV last night I made sure I watched that and wasn't sorry. Oh yeah, I didn't watch the movie again.  It was getting late..
Speaking of getting late.  I need to get ready for work.  My girlfriend from the "North" end of town emailed me last night and said the ground was covered with snow and it was still snowing.   Didn't have a flake here...So, I have no idea what its like between here and work................Have a good one folks...

Happy Monday.  I try with that every Monday sometimes it works and sometimes,not so much...And since I stayed up to watch that fantastic football game last night.  it's "not so much" Monday...........
So good ol' Peyton goes to the Super Bowl.  I'm so darned happy for him and am so darned going to pull for him.  I went from thinking he was the worst excuse for a Quarterback last night to.....thinking he was the best.  Of course I remember thinking things like that when he played for UT.  That look on his face last night, when he knew they had won......fantastic. He really is a good guy. 
TONIGHT!!!  HEROES is back......I am so darned excited about this show finally coming back on with no re-runs....How great is that.  Bringing back meaning to Monday...According to the TV Guide there's going to be all kinds of changes etc.I can not wait......
Hope everyone had a nice weekend.  I'm sorry for the fans of the Saints and Patriots and so terribly happy for the Colts and Bears fans

Every bit of Monday....

So, here I am sitting on my bed posting.  This is cool.  There is one drawback though, I'd really rather lay down, turn over and go back to sleep...of course, with it being Monday morning I have this issue called a job.......I may do this downstairs in the mornings.  Maxi came up here before I did.  I think he likes the new electric blanket on his hip but I'd really rather go to sleep right now.
I managed to get the font's bigger on the screen but......it still looks like a big ol' white fog
is on my screen.  Any ideas?
Did you know, that there is a limit to what you can put on a debit card? I didn't and when I bought this I tried the debit card and it wouldn't take it. I wrote a check, (which, I might add I haven't done in forever).  They said it was so that if someone stole it they couldn't do too much damage to your account.  Good idea, I just didn't know that it was there.  This is a good thing. 
Not one, nopey, not one of my favorite teams won.  Not ONE!!!!  I didn't care about the Seattle/Dallas game.  I was watching it and goodness that QB from Dallas earned my pity after that botched play.  I hope at some point he wins a Super Bowl, or he will only be remembered as the dude that screwed that up!!
Oh yeah, winter is at the front door and getting ready to blow in.  Actually its not too bad but its a lot worse than this weekend.  It's 41 degrees here this morning.  High 48.  I don't think it was that cool this weekend at all.  Even in the morning. AND.  they're predicting snow flurries for late tomorrow.  I'm glad I don't need bread or milk 'cause the stores will be empty for sure.

I won't be doing this anymore in the morning.  I am such a creature of habit and so, I'll be downstairs in the mornings.  I'm about to go NUTS here and so is Maxi.  Maybe if it was a one floor apt it would be ok.  It's cool though being upstairs and posting..  We'll see.  How was your weekend?

Mornin'...and Survivor

Have to get up this morning a bit earlier to get Maxi to the groomer at 7 am.  Only one thing to say about that.   sh*t
So, what did you think about Survivor?  I don't understand the three person method.  I suppose by pulling it as a surprise it does blow up anyone's "late" plans as far as getting rid of competition.  I guess I didn't understand Becky being there at all.  I didn't watch the "third hour" last night,  If you did, what did Becky say about not getting even one vote.  Surely, after that debacle (sp) starting fire, she didn't think she deserved it.  I guess I'm ok with Yul winning.  Better than Becky but I still think Ozzy should win.  I'm thinking they'd all be gone if it wasn't for him....Oh well.....at least Ozzy won the car..
Sorry Giants fans.  I don't know what's wrong with that team.  I'd like to see them do well but I don't see it happening the way they're playing now. Yeah Titans......keep it up..
It's 42 degrees here with a high of 69 today.  This is fine but its sure hard to plan the ol' wardrobe.  Freezing in AM and down right hot in the afternoons....Spring????

Maudlin Monday

Oh god, its back to work today.   I was so enjoying my days off.  I need to win the lottery then I can work when I want to not just because these damn bills make me.. Yep,win the lottery.... (I guess I'd better buy a ticket, huh?)
Did you watch Amazing Race last night.  ?  I'm a bit disappointed that the "Bama" girls didn't win but they did so well.  Is there any money involved in third?  Well, the best thing is  Rob and Kim didn't win.  OMG I was just about nuts at the end. I was pretty sure the models were first but until I actually saw them I was just a bit worried.  Wasn't last nights episode odd?  Isn't it usually longer than an hour?  It seems like they didn't have to do much as far as competing went..Did you think the same thing?
I'm sick of Paula Dean (sp).  I had her "party" on tape last night and watched it until Amazing Race started and nearly went nuts.  I don't know a living soul who uses "yall" (sp) as much as she does.  Keep in mind, I live in the south.  Maybe its because I've never watched her longer than 30 minutes but for an hour....Overdose on the Southern Sweetness...or, maybe I'm in a lousy mood.
Oh yeah, she sure made me hungry.  I guess that's what they pay her for..heheh
Zoots coming home today.  She called yesterday after the race and said everything was going fine and she was having a ball.  You can go see some of her pictures that she's posted to Flickr.  She's got some beauties..
Ok, off to work today. Besides "Go Titans" might I just say  "Yeah Saints"....Took those Cowboys to the shed last night. 
They just said that the Titans are in the "Wild Card" hunt.  How cool is that.?  Of course they'll have to win out, which they may not be able to do but it's fun watching...

Merry Monday...maybe

Holy Sweetness its fricking cold here.  Twenty-five degrees and its only going up to 40.  It probably wouldn't be so bad in here except I turned the heat down yesterday when the apt got up to 74 and it was warm in here.  I think, during the winter, the neighbors turn their heat up and it keeps mine warm but I guess when its 25 degrees at night.........not so much   brrrrr
UT is going to the Bowl in Tamp Florida to play Penn State.  I have no idea how they'll do, and no I'm not going but at least they made a New Years Day Bowl and considering last year, when they didn't even make a bowl, this is wonderful.  I think its the Outback bowl, but I'm not sure
As much as I hate Florida (University of Fl football program) during the regular season, I'm glad they get to play the title game.  And, I hope they win.  I doubt they will but since they're an SEC school I have feel like I have to root for them, but it'll be very, very difficult.
The last "fall" episode of "Heroes" is tonight.  I love that show.  It started out great and is getting better and better (as opposed to a bunch of others that started out good and now s*ck) If you haven't watched it, and they do re-runs for the people who missed it from the start...give it a try.  It really is good.  For those of you who watch, I wish I had an alter personality like Nikki.  Be handy.
The TV guide says "Nine" is on the shelf for a while.  I can't blame them.  It had potential but it never got there.  It was just plain boring and I feel that Jericho may be headed in that direction also.   Sometimes I think people come up with these "good" ideas but don't really have a plan for the story line when they put it on TV and thus.......off to the shelf after a while.  I'm afraid that's what's wrong with Nine.  It did sound like a good idea but they had no idea what to do with it...
Enough of that.  I'm only working three days this week. Oh yeah, I can take that for sure.

Oh goodness. Do you know that when its the first day back from vacation, you should probably set the alarm...........mmmmm
Amazing Race....They finally put the da*m blonds in last place and I'm thrilled they're going home and sure enough..............Its a don't go home episode so the bit**es are still there... Now, I thought I heard Phil say, the second time KY got to stay, that it was the last  time that would happen.  I remember thinking "good, now I don't have to worry about it any more"...So, I don't know what happened, unless they're worried about ratings and think the blonds will keep them up...Whatever.  If its them, and Rob and his girlfriend for the win..I'll watch something else.  I totally dislike all of them...
FOOTBALL..........whoooooo.  They're showing the highlights all over ESPN today of the Titans unbelievable win over the Giants.  I'm so loving watching them. I know you all think I'm crazy, but us Titans fans can use an occasional up lift and boy oh boy this one qualifies....I haven't been this excited about a Titans game since the "Music City Miracle".....
Ok, I'm off to work....Of course I only have a four day week, this week, and next week.  I kind of like taking most vacation at the end of the year.  I don't think we have a full staff again until after the first.........what ahoot.............

Ok, its 31 degrees here...And there is ice everywhere.  It's ok, but I hate putting the heat on this early.
What is couscous and why does it taste so dreadful.?  Someone tell me what to do with it ok? Simple but good would be nice since I bought some yesterday in my never ending quest to try to eat somewhat healthy.
Did you watch Amazing Race last night?  Damn I hate two parters.  Don't they understand that next weekend begins the holiday week.  Geeze.. I'm thinking watching the Helsinki challenge will be very interesting.  I'm personally terrified of heights and am not too sure how I'd do in that one.  I think I'd be ok doing it backwards, but looking down...mmmm   I really, really don't like Rob and what's her name.  Not at all..
I have a Pay Pal question.  To anyone who can answer this.  I just renewed my Flickr for another year.  I gave them my debit card etc.  and I get an email acknowledging the purchase, and then I get one from Pay Pal.  I didn't use Pay Pal.  I've had absolutely nothing but trouble from them since I tried about a year or two ago.  I don't want anything at all to do with them so...  Am I going to be charged twice.?  Any ideas what I should do..I did reply to Pay Pal and told them I didn't use them and I shouldn't be charged twice.  If you use Pay Pal do you often get two acknowledgments like I did?  I know, a lot of people like Pay Pal, and I was prepared to but my first experience wasn't good and neither was the second so.........I don't use it.

AHHH. Its Monday

I know that Mondays suck. And basically they do.  I also know that I've been whining about all the work we've been doing lately.  Actually I've been whining a LOT.. It's just something to say folks.  There isn't much that gets me going better than a new computer system, (especially one I understand).  It's almost like I have a new job.  Now, I'm not stupid.  It's the same job.  I've had it for 17 years but changing computers is almost like a new job, in that it changes the daily "rut". so to speak. I find that I wake up earlier and don't totally dread going to work.  So, I'm sure I'll hit the "overworked wall" eventually but for right now, even though I'm whining I'm really not miserable...At least with the new computer system..I do hope it slows down just a bit at work so I can get better at the system.  If it doesn't, that could turn up the "whining" button..

So its Monday

This day starts three of the busiest weeks we've seen in a long time at work. No, not customers..Its a computer conversion.  We're working long days, weekends etc to get this done.  We have to do preparation this week and next and then we go "live" on the 16th.  OMG.  I was reading all of the details over the weekend and the days are going to be long and they are planned thoroughly.  There's a few days that lunch and dinner aren't even mentioned.  Wonder how they'll feel when I have to go home and let Maxi out?  He's a wonderful dog, absolutely has no accidents but......15 hrs is asking too much of the poor guy.  I've never left him alone that long.  MMM  Wonder how they'd feel if I brought him back with me?   Not such a good idea, ya think..
Anyway, I'm also going to stop forwarding my empty nest email to me at work.  There's going to be so many people in and out of both the office and my computer I just think its not such a good idea.  So, if you email me and I don't answer, don't be offended, I'll read it as soon as I get home. 
Amazing Race.   You know, I was rather concerned last night because the teams that I have problems with well.  weren't going anywhere.  I didn't actually love the dad, and daughter that went home but they weren't the one's I disliked the most either.   I do love Mary.  She is certainly proving a lot of things about Southerners and I love her for it. Especially in the "friendship" department. And her hubby.. His remarks about Vietnam during the war.  I wondered, when they were headed there if anyone would bring up the war.  His father is the one who made him think of it.  Remembering my friends come up with me.  And...just to mention the "brothers" who showed the respect at the "Hanoi Hilton" when they went to get their clue.  That phrase "Hanoi Hilton" will always be the definition of hell on earth to me.  I'm sure I'll have  more definite opinions when the "crowds" thin  out...
This weekend me and  TIVO thingy became friends.  I watched episode two of Studio 60 and Standoff.  I love Studio 60, and Standoff it pretty good too.  If you haven't watched Studio 60, give it a chance ok?

What did I do this weekend?  Besides of course ache all weekend from inventory?  Yes, standing on my feet for hours, all day on Friday, which I'm not used to doing just about did me in.  My old feet just don't like it at all.  Mercifully we got done in one day and didn't have to work Saturday. but.  I was about as beat as I've been in a awhile.  Saturday I was thinking "not so bad".  A bit sore and tired but I did everything I HAD to do..then came yesterday.  Holy smokes, I had forgotten about the day after the day after aches.  So I was worth just about nothing yesterday. 
Of course, it poured ALL WEEKEND.  I mean almost every minute.  If it wasn't pouring it was puddled everywhere.  It was just one of those "couch" weekends. Just about every minute.........And then my daughter runs a 5K....How wonderful is that.?  I am so proud of her..
Ok, I have to say a few things to my sporting teams this weekend..Bear with me..1.) Titans suck.  That's all and I'm sorry,. 2.) Giants...what the hell was that?  You really need to start playing BEFORE the 4th quarter. 3.) Go Vols..Phil can keep his job.,. 4.) Ryder Cup...PFFFFFT..5.) I hate the Patriots.  Let me down..off the suicide sheet.  Thanks pretty boy.  6.) Poor Chris Simms.  Glad he's ok.  Losing spleen playing football. Go figure.

Scratch...Scratch

I was planning on sleeping late this morning.  By late I mean 9-10. I haven't slept in really late this whole 4 days.  Maxi had been out late last night so I knew he was ok..I'm laying there sleeping when the sound of a scratch woke me up.  My first thought was that Maxi had gone downstairs and the door swung closed or close to it behind him.  (I know. stupid, but...I was asleep). So I sat up and low and behold Maxi was next to me in the bed..So, I assumed I had "just heard nothing" and laid back down.  OOPS.. Again and louder and longer.  I laid there thinking about screaming my head off but I was pretty sure no one would give a crap.  Maxi was even looking at the door...EEEEKkkk.  So, after much serious thought I got up.  Opening the bedroom door wasn't easy.  I was pretty nervous....Guess what?  Absolutely nothing....Nada....So what was it?  Any ideas?  I haven't found any evidence of mice, rats    four legged little creatures anywhere.  Keep in mind, I haven't looked like I was Sherlock Holmes but.............So, am I relaxed?  No.  GRRRRR.  And, most important question....Do I really, really want to find it?  I'm thinking NO.
BB was rather boring last night. Seemed like the first 30 minutes was filler.I'm also wondering why they're cramming everything on Thursday night.  Why don't they do something on Sundays/Tuesdays  The food competition was funny but heck it only took a few minutes.   YAY George....no slop for a week....That's good. Go George and Janelle....
I'm off.  Oh yeah, and the meatloaf su*ked....meatloaf made with Turkey meat is just awful...Or at least my recipe that I use for beef doesn't work too good with Turkey.  I may have to search for a turkey meat recipe meatloaf.  Any ideas?

Well, crawling around on the floor and picking up babies can make your body hurt like thing else, and in place that haven't been disturbed in a very long time. I'm going to have to get to work a bit earlier now, since school is in session. There is about a 20-25 minute difference when school is in and when its not.  Dammitt..

Big Brother..  Did  danelle, james and the others not hear Julie say the word (clues)...What in the sam hill made them think they knew it just becasue of the lamb/sheep/ewe  whatever.  I'm rather glad she did because I really don't think I like her, although I did hear  read that Daniell won the POV. I'll believe it when I read it on Jackie's blog not before.  This week is shaping up to be a rather interesting eviction ceremony.  I don't know how they'll do it but I have a feeling if there is any way to make it happen, Janey will be gone..  What about Erika and Boogie?  Do you think they have/had and alliance before the show even started?  Now that I think of it he doesn't flirt much does he?  And when he was in the tub, yest Janelle was there but.....so was Ericka..mmmmm.  I kinda want Erica gone.  Don't much like her at all......

Don't forget to see Hell's Kitchen tonight.  I think I could refer to the finalists as the two people I dislike the least.  All of the contestants I liked?  gone. It's too back they can't work it so they both win and work together.  Zoot and I discussed that and decided that's would be a great solution....Unfortunately Chef wasn't there to listen..

I'm very interested in watching ABC football tonight.  At least part of it.  I really like Tony Kornheiser a lot and hope to goodness he does a great job.  I know he's terrified because of what happened with Dennis Miller.  At its worst this could be interesting.  Of course anyone who has to work with Joe Theisman should get an automatic medal any way.  If I was Tony, that's who I worry about, Joe Theisman and what he'd do.

Did you watch last night? BB.?  What do you think?  Was James threatening Janine if she didn't nominate Boogie...that the alliance would then be down the tubes?  That's the way I took it. My thought then was to smack him but I guess she couldn't do that but no one jumped on it accusing him of being selfish and inconsiderate of the entire alliance.  I do think he needs to go and he needs to be the first of the alliance to go too...but not just yet.  Here's my next question though?  Who's going to be voted out this week?  Assuming Veto stays pat will Evils Dr go or Ericka? I did like Janelle's reasoning for picking Ericka.  She is pretty well liked and hopefully that will keep here there for now.  Do you think if someone uses the veto on Will that Janelle will then put up Boogie?  mmmmmm.  Can you do that...nominate the one who used the veto?...
Ok, its going to be hotter than hell this week.  They just came on the news with all kids of advisories etc and telling us it'll be over 100 (or at least the heat index will) beginning tomorrow.  It seems like its been quite HOT this summer, more so than usual and 100's are too high to us here.. Its not normal to have this much heat in good ol' Tennessee.  Alabama yes..Tennessee (at least East Tennessee) no....grrrrr
I spoke with Miss Zoot last night while she was in the Atlanta airport.  As far as travel went, the weekend sucked but it sounds like Blogher was a blast.  She said she had so very much to tell but she was caught up in a delay in the Atlanta airport and Nikki was not terribly happy about it all.  She also repeated many times.  "Thank god for LilZ"  ..I"m assuming they got home ok.  The internet said her plane landed, albeit very late so you know, the mommy in me will feel much better just hearing from her or seeing a post on her blog...

Back at it...

Well, I woke up and a little early today.  Ha...that won't happen again.  Actually I didn't wake up the alarm went off and after one snooze alarm hit, it got up.   Problem was this...its set for 3-4 snoozes.  Oh well...
I'm rather excited about going back to work today.  I know it'll be hell as in busy but I'm ready now.  I've figured out why I was out so long this week too.  Every time I've had this procedure done its been on a Thursday.  Resulting in me only missing three days of work but I have the 2 days of the weekend to recuperate.  I know now that scheduling on Tuesday is not such a good idea.  I don't like missing an entire week of work sick.  Not a bit.....
Did you watch BB last night?  I'm thinking putting up Will is a wonderful idea because I'd love to see him go..I also think that making Chicken George an enemy is a bad idea.  and I don't understand  what James problem is with Chicken George.  I can think of a lot of people who should be gone before George and .....why does he think George will go to the end if he doesn't go home now? If they stay together (BB6) they can get him out any time don't ya think?  I watched BB1 and Chicken George isn't a real thread physically and if I'm not mistaken he's not so hot on the other categories either.  I know he loved dying his hair....I don't see what James sees.  I'm not so sure BB6 shouldn't get rid of James and quickly.  He'll sell them out first opportunity....Ok, so who should go? George or Will....?

I made it to Nashville yesterday.  Maxi was most excellent. We only stopped twice and it wasn't just him that needed to.. My sis is wonderful and one of my brothers and his family came over for a visit too.  That was nice, especially since I don't see much of him at all.  He has twin sons who have just graduated from high school and are coming to K'town for college.  I can't wait, it'll be nice to have family around again. Really.  Of course the one nephew is stop a clock handsome.  I am not exaggerating either.  He said he'd come and visit me etc but here's what I'm thinking.   Hot women far outweigh your aunt as far as where you want to spend your time.  Don't ya think?

Its hot folks....Just plain miserably hot.  That's all I can say about that.  Sis and I are going to Cracker Barrel today and maybe a movie.  Sis has a cracked mirror on the floor in her (her office) and you should see Maxi trying to figure out what the hell that is...

You know, I don't really hate Mondays.  I hate what I have to do on Mondays.  And yes, I know I should be grateful to have a job, and I am.  I just wish I could be thankful in bed...sleeping.   My boss asked the three inside sales people to rotate their hours from 8-5 to 7:30 to 4:30.  We stupidly agreed and I'm first.  Now get this, I usually get there at 7:30 am anyway so I shouldn't have to get up an any different time but...I only got about 2 hrs sleep last night worrying about being late.  grrrrr. damn dummy that I am.
Don't forget Treasure Hunters and Hells Kitchen are both on tonight.  And, Hell's Kitchen is beating Treasure Hunters in the ratings.  Much to my surprise but maybe not.  Hell's Kitchen is just plain great, especially if you can stand the screaming...
Folks I'm not a soccer person.  Never heard of these people nor have I watched a game since Xzhibit stopped playing...But I did turn in a little bit yesterday and I'm not so dumb as to think that France at least had a better chance of winning with that dude Zidane, who so stupidly head butted the Italian and got tossed.   Oh yes and penalty kicks deciding the champion in soccer is just plain awful.  All of the above are only my opinion.   Congrats again to all Italian supporters!!!
I had to wake up my dog this morning and he's back upstairs in bed.  I may start worrying about him if this keeps up.  He's been spending a lot of time upstairs alone lately and he NEVER does that.  Motherhood is so difficult..

EEEKKK..Its Monday and I have to go to work.  Doesn't everyone you ask? NO....and I had originally scheduled a vacation day today but then canceled it.  I really wasn't going anywhere today and just couldn't see wasting  using a vacation day for nothing.  Well, considering that I didn't sleep worth a bit last night I now wish I had...Good news is....I am off tomorrow..
Anyone have any ideas what I should bring to a cook out tomorrow?  I'm having a brain fart and the only thing I can think of has mayo in it and I personally would rather NOT contribute to anyone being ill. 
I go to the Dr. this morning.  No..nothing is wrong but he only writes prescriptions for 6 months at a time just to make sure you get in to see him.   He's only about 1/4 mile from work so I decided early this am would be good. 
Carlos Zambrano, who is the Cubs best pitcher, made it to the All-Star game.  He is absolutely the only Cub who deserves it.  Yesterday, he was pitching and he wasn't doing as well as he can do when it was his turn to bat..I guess he decided he was pitching for a lousy team and if he was going to win he was going to have to do more than pitch....so he hit a 2 run home run!  Gotta love Carlos, even when he gets pissed visibly angry.
Hells Kitchen is NOT on tonight.  Damn.  I love that show and it comes back the 10th but still............Treasure Hunt is though so that's a good thing.  Don't forget Thursday is the first episode of BB.........whoooo..

HAPPY MONDAY...

Did anyone watch the Golf yesterday?  Anyone?  I swear to goodness poor Phil Mickelson has just descended from the pedestal  he was up on as possibly the best golfer in the world right now.  No, wrong word.  Descended indicates it was a graceful descent..He fell right off that pedestal and landed right on his big ole face.  He will never ever be in line for that conversation again, or at least for a very long time..Par wins, bogie ties.  Does anyone remember Jean Van de Velde from the 1999 British Open?   That was the worst collapse I have EVER seen, but that was made by someone who wasn't being elevated to the best golfer in the world.  Yesterday's collapse was.  I feel badly for Phil.  He seems like a nice enough guy.  He isn't my favorite golfer by any means but like I said I think he's a pretty nice guy.  But let me say this, ..they guy I was rooting for, Geoff Ogilvy from Australia won.  I didn't think he had a chance yesterday, I thought at best there would be a playoff and I really felt Phil would probably win that but.......................sorry Phil and congrats to Geoff, who spells his name funny...... and who's wife is pregnant.  Fine timing don't you think?
TV...I watched "Treasure Hunters" last night. Did you?  What did you think?  I'll tell you this, I didn't like the first hour but the second hour seemed to pick it up a bit.  I felt pretty bad for the group that had to go home since being last really wasn't their fault.  What about the preacher and his family?  You know he said he'd "beg forgiveness rather than as permission" of the lord.........He's in the hole already don't you think?  He's not even a nice man...and his wife.......I can see me screaming at her before long.  Anyhow, I'll give this one a try, but ....its on again next Monday at 9 and that is opposite "Hells Kitchen" so it's good that I have DVR...very good, because Treasure Hunters would lose out..
Oh yeah, before I leave for the day.  One more golf comment.  If you're a Mickelson fan and don't want to criticize him for collapsing....Here's a few others.  Colin Montgomerie, double bogie ( he would have won if he hadn't collapsed) , Jim Furyk..., Padraic Harrington and many more...
Oh yeah...Cubs lost, Dallas won..That's all folks..

Goodness I don't want to be up today.  For some reason I didn't sleep worth a lick last night...Oh well such is life...
I watched "Windfall" and so far ITS GREAT....Now I know it can su*k in one more episode but its set up to be pretty darned good.  Keep your eyes open if you haven't seen it.  I think they're showing the original episode on Thursday before the next episode.  Just saying..
Tonight.........Hell's Kitchen premiers.  Fox, 8 pm EST. It was so good last year.  I'm hoping it's equally as good this year.  Maybe it'll help the summer of dead TV go by easier.

And tonight is a full moon.  What does that mean you ask?  You can see better after the sun sets.  My feet (see below) will glow. 
I may take Friday as a personal day this week.  The Cubs are on TV but more importantly the US Open is on.  I love major Golf tournaments so............Plus, I have tons of time so why not.
Oh yeah, and I'm making some progress on Access 2003.  It's really difficult to learn a new computer program when you're not busy at work, especially when you're always busy at work..........but on I go.  I've got some data bases created and I can enter records into them but then............well, I haven't gotton that far along yet..  Wish me luck and I know you were all waiting with baited breath for that report!
NASCAR.  For anyone who says Jeff Gordon never had a bad lick.........He has now.  I thought he was dead yesterday after his wreck.  Now, he's not even close to one of my favorite drivers but that's certainly not what I'd wish on him or any other driver.  Then, after the accident they interviewed him and seriously, I'm not sure if he knew what he was doing, what he was saying or anything. 
Cubs won Saturday and Sunday....Don't worry, I haven't put a jinx on them yet.  They don't play today. 
One more thing....Without the details.  Activa seems to actually do what is says it will.  Of course its only been 2 weeks and I could end up saying just the opposite in another week but...............so far so good.

Mornin' everyone. Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  I personally can not gripe when we have a weekend like we did here in Tennessee.  As far as weather, I can not complain about one second of it.  Got to turn off the A/C.  I got some beautiful pictures of clouds last night as the sun was going down.  I'll work on them tonight.  For some reason I seem to be fascinated with pictures of clouds. 
TV...Queer Eyes/Straight Guy premiers this week.  Tomorrow.  I love that show and can't wait for it to start.  And for the record "Hells Kitchens" premiers next Monday too.  There are little dots of hope for something besides re-runs for some of the summer.

Congrats to the UT Lady's Softball program.  Missed the World Series finals by one game but they did well and...............to the best of my knowledge none of them have any legal troubles.   
Weekend discovery... Nestea has made Iced Tea....My kind of Iced Tea.  I found it today at Walmart and I am so damned happy right now.  See, here in the south you're supposed to drink "sweetened" tea.  I mean SWEETENED tea.  I hate sweetened tea, but for some reason anyone who makes ready to drink tea, always puts sweetener in it. If they don't put sweetener in it...its lemon, lots of lemon.   I don't like lemon in my tea either.  My tea is tea...that's all folks, tea.  They make and sell unsweetened tea in Huntsville AL, but they don't sell it here until now!!!!  and its not bad at all.  Oh yeah, I am a happy camper now.  Until Walmart pulls it and I can't get it any more. 
Congrats to Dallas and Miami basketball teams.  New teams and I probably won't watch any of the games but either one winning is just fine. 
Pujols....Now, St Louis and Cubs are bitter rivals.  The injury to Pujols might make it easier for the Cubs to at least try and catch up with St. Louis.  But.  I really am sorry that Pujols is hurt.  I was hoping he'd break every damn record he could this year.  At least it would have taken Barry out of the headlines.  Too bad, I hope he can come back this season.

UGH, UGH, UGH

Good god, not is it only Monday, its my first day back to work from my very nice restful vacation.  Evidently I was so restful yesterday I tossed and turned all night long. 
Maxi is having a bit of trouble.  He went out last night and stayed for quite a while.  When I let him back in he was limping.  I can't find a darn thing wrong with him.  This has happened before but was always gone the next day. I mean it was obvious he didn't want to walk.. Its still there this morning.  He did go out but as he came back in he's on the floor not moving. (PS..Is he using the Puppy steps to get on the couch? That would be a big ol' NO).  I did give him some kids Tylenol so maybe that will kick in.  I'd be concerned but as I said, this isn't the first time.  I'll give it a bit of a while before I panic.  It could just be arthritis....Which is one of the reason I want a one floor condo when I actually get it..Between me and MAXI we could be rather entertaining hobbling around..
You know how you're supposed to find a good thing in every day.  I was having a bit of trouble in that area this morning BUT...if you'll look on the sidebar (right) right above the pretty red clock................1400 days since I've had a cigarette....1400 DAYS.  I never ever thought that would happen so there's one reason to be "happy".. Of course I miss the hell out of them and if I'm in a crowd I stand "down wind" of smokers so I can still get the occasional sniff bit..................Its still not smoking.  There are two reasons why I really don't expect to try one anytime soon.  One: Peter Jennings.  He had stopped smoking for a good while but when 9/11 happened he started again.  Just for a while.  He died of lung cancer 3yrs lager.....TWO.  Co worker who quit probably 10-15 years ago.  He smoked three packs a day and swore he put them down one day and never picked them up again, nor did he want to.  I always told him if he didn't miss it, he was never addicted....So last Christmas at our Christmas party he bummed a cigarette from one of the other salesmen.. Hasn't stopped yet.   I totally admired his will power and determination, over the years that we've worked together.  If that's what happened and he ended up buying a pack...well, I know for sure I'd do it. I'll just keep standing downwind and have a nice supply of straws thank you very much.  Its a godawful habit..just don't start and you won't have to discover how awful it is...   and I don't do it any more.........
