Empty Nest

So..pictures to tell about yesterday

I got my storm and screen doors installed yesterday.  There's Maxi doing what he loves...looking out the front door.  How cool is that?   I haven't ruled out putting the screen in there.  The installation guy said no one does that but........well, I'm not no one  (hehehehe) and I love the fresh air while we can...

There is also the screen door in the back that has the doggie door in it.  Maxi is slowly figuring that thing out.  He misses his little screens that swing. 

I started a fire in my little fire pit on Friday and Sat nights.  It was great.  The next door neighbors had a hum dinger of a party last night.  There are cars everywhere and it ran pretty long and loud last night.

Oh yeah and I finally figured out how to hang the da*n blinds on the back door. .The late afternoon sun was a beotch coming through there and now I have a way to block it.   Mercy.  Also you might want to take it easy on those too.  I'm not sure they're fastened very well.  I couldn't get the drill, or the electric screw drive to work. 

On sports.....I'm not going to expound to much on my Cubbies.  Don't want to junx them ya know....Tennessee College football kinda doesn't deserve much mention.  There may be a lynchin' if we don't win a game against a decent team.  ...Yeah my Titans!!!  They're having to work their butts off today.

I finally took some pictures.  Most of them are on Flickr but here's one.  I'm close to done.  The guest room was the worst and I cleaned it out today and created so much trash.  Garage is next big step but its mostly organizing...I think..

Hi Everyone... I'm alive

I haven't left or anything.  All I'm doing right now is pack/move boxes. Take said boxes to new house, come home and sleep. Get up the next day and do it again.  I can not wait to move.  I'm so ready to be in the  new house and I'm pretty sure Maxi just wants to be there or here but be in one place so he can sleep!!!
Have to get ready to work.  You take care and pray for me ok?  There are a few moments that I think the good Lord is going to have to pull me through that particular moment.
Oh yeah......AND I'M GOING TO SEE ALL OF MY CHILDREN, THEIR CHILDREN AND A NEPHEW THIS WEEKEND.  WHOOOOO!!!!!

TOMORROW!!!!!

Tomorrow.  27 hrs I will own a house.  I am so excited and beside myself.  I didn't pack any thing last night.  I just couldn't. I still have so much to do but sometimes you just have to take a break.  Maxi and I watched the Greatest Dog show(which is just about my favorite show on TV) and I went to bed.
Good news is my nephew is going to help us move to.  They just got back into town for school and he said he'd be glad to help.  I can't wait to see him again too. 
Oh yeah, and I've discovered that...compared to where I live now, I will live in the middle of nowhere in one week.  EEK....
Of course now I can just about walk anywhere I need to go.  I don't walk but I could.

TWO DAYS!!!!

I was home sick yesterday. Maxi and I at the same thing Sunday night and when I came home Monday well..as soon as I walked in I knew he had been sick, and in an hour or so I was sick.  I thought I'd get better as the day went on and I could do anything....Nothing.  all I did was sleep.  I'd fill a box, sleep for 2 hrs and...I slept all night too.  Headache to beat the band etc.   So in essence I have wasted an entire darn day.  I feel a bet better this morning so...off to work.   I do have all the utilities ready to be turned on on Friday am.  Cable guy will be there Friday afternoon etc. 
I am also living in a jungle of boxes...full and empty.  I can't wait until I can get some of this out of here...

I took this a few hours ago.  Let me just say this...I have not thrown a damn thing away in 10 f'ing years!!!!!

Furniture etc

Today I bought, night stands for the bedroom, brown leather sofa and love seat and both have recliners in them. 
Coffee table and end tables
Refrigerator
washer
dryer
I'm not eating Rice cakes for the rest of my life. 
I fell in love with the leather furniture.  Its so soft and fine and fun and I love it and that's all that matters. 
I still need lamps, and I don't know what else.  I still kinda want a man and 1/2 recliner.  Can you tell I'm only thinking of that...I also need some patio furniture.   
So that's where I am and now I MUST pack or I'm not going anywhere in two weeks!!!

ONE WEEK

Yep, one week from today.  I get the house.  OMG.  I have so much to do!!!.  Oh yeah, I did by a bed last night.  Its basically a King size bed, on a frame with a wire headboard.  New mattress etc.  I was thinking of a queen size bed.   I didn't realize they were as small as they are.  Maxi and I would NEVER make it on a queen size bed.   Now I need to find nightstand tables.  They will deliver the bed the day after closing so I can sleep there if I want to.  (cable you know....)
So off to work.  It is Friday too.  I will find the rest of my furniture this weekend.   I with the air quality would improve. Its not helping my cough a bit.....grrrrrrr

11 days

11 Days til closing.  I didn't do much towards moving etc.  There was an issue or two at work that pretty much ruined my day and everyone else's day.  I did bring home a lot of boxes from work and the whse manager said I shouldn't need any boxes to move.  We should have plently. 
Maxi is very confused.  He has such a puzzled look on his face. 
Guess what...........Football season is just around the corner.  I am so excited...

Advice please

Refrigerator....Should it be stainless or black.   I'm getting a french door but without the freezer on the bottom.  Geeze they're expensive!!!  So which color or either one?

The dishwasher is black facing the stove..

I've lightened this a bit to see the appliances easier.  The cabinets aren't this orange.  :-)

Screen windows ok.....

I went back over there with RE man and I was thinking those windows from last nights pictures were wonderful.  I would have them open in Spring and Fall...........Guess what?  They're the funky windows that fold back into the house to clean the inside and outside...How cool is that.  AND, the kitchen faucet is one of those pull out spray faucets and a dispenser of  either lotion or soap.  I nor REman would say for sure.  I am so excited and one of the salesmen I work with says he has plenty of boxes and I won't have to worry about boxes.  He even has wardrobe boxes.  Of course, we do have to get them all to my house..  ummmm.

They made a counter offer and then I made one so I'm waiting on that reply.  I'm hoping to hear tonight but it'll probably be tomorrow.  Deadline is 1 pm.  I may still be sane by then but....I wouldn't count on it.  I will have pictures if the house is mine.  I took a few the other night.   
Don't forget to watch the Greatest Dog in America or something like that.  Tonight at 8pm est on CBS and I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!

I woke up

I'm awake.  I slept ok so I guess I'll function.  Supposedly he's supposed to get me some answer this morning.  I've about decided to calm down and if it doesn't work for me...it just doesn't.  I'll be disappointed but surely there is another condo in this city somewhere that I'll love just as much as this one.    Dammitt.

STILL WAITING

Well, he contacted my agent and turned down most of it.  Well, all of it so to speak.  He is really having no trouble selling these units.  So we sent back another offer and now I'm just waiting to hear from RE man.......I'm about to be sick...

OMG....What????

I did it.  I made an offer.  Last night.  I should know by 8 pm tonight if I'll get it or not.  How do I feel, you ask.   TERRIFIED!
Mr RE man and I spent about 2 hrs in the condo.  He was going to try to change my mind back to the condo he's trying to sell but finally said......"This one is just plain much better" and
I think so too.  I have pictures but I'm not posting them until I hear from them.  I'm so excited I can't hardly stand myself. 
So say a little prayer that this goes through ok?  I'll let  you know asap!!

Looked again...

Well RE man didn't call today.  I may have to fire him.  I did go back to the new condo's again and there was someone to talk to.  I got answers for some of my questions and I may have to see about getting that one. The yard isn't terribly big but I can fence it in and Maxi can roam without a leash.
I have to buy a refrigerator, which doesn't surprise me.  All the other appliances are new.  There's room inside and out for the grandkids when they come and visit. 
Its not terribly close to any shopping but.....think about it I won't have any money to shop with anyway. 
So that's where I am and we'll see how RE man does when he's not selling something that is his....
I'm not paying the asking price so we'll see how that works.  I did see a house today I may look at but houses scare me.  More than Condo's do..

Just looking today

RE man called this morning and evidently the "seller" is home puking because he and his fiancee had a fight and he's back into the condo.  So, its cancelled.  Which is okay.  I have a list of places to look at today and I really like this RE guy so he's going to help me find a  house/condo.  If I find one that I like I can call him and he'll  make the appointment to see it with him.  I feel better knowing that. So...that's where I am today.  Driving around looking, I'm going to check out "open houses" for tomorrow and go to a few of them too.  It's hotter than dammit again today too.  I hate August.  Hate it I say..

Is this step two?

Ok, as I said I really liked that condo but...old, no new appliances, carpet, paint, bathroom floor etc. So I had decided I needed to look at other Condo's.  BUT.  Little super real estate agent is calling me every day.  They'll fix the carpet, bathroom, paint, put in hardwood floors, give me a 1year warranty and give me 1500.00 for new kitchen appliances. I can pick everything too. 
Now, its still small, nothing will change that. And I know I must look at other places.  I know I should.  I drove out to a new complex  of condo's this afternoon and there will be open house on Saturday.  I'm going to check them out but I can tell you thisl  I hate them.  The look like a computer printout.  There is only 3 units to a section,, some of them being just 2 units.  I must have an edge unit w/ 2 car garage (part for storage).
So my BFF and I are going  to look again at the first condo.  She'll have no qualms to say "hey, you're an idiot and you'll hate this" or anything else that needs to be said.  And she may come up with some questions to ask that I miss. 
Then I'll go to the computer printout and look at the inside of them.  That place is still under construction and in some units I can pick the colors.  One thing missing is the fireplace.  None in those units but they have a bit of a backyard.. The one I like best has no back yard. 
I hope I'm making sense. My brain feels like its been in a blender.  The agent that I'm talking too, really wants to sell this older condo.  Maybe when I tell him the price I can and will only pay, with all of the "fixins" he'll change is mind.  But if he takes that...........I might just take it.   
How do I find an agent to find me a house? Any ideas?

What next?

I've got to look at some more houses/condo's and quickly.  I keep decorationg the one I saw Sunday and figuring out how I can get it..  I loved so much about it butl.....all carpet has to be replaced, the master bath has to have the toilet pulled up and the floor redone ((something about a leak) the applicances are all 12 years old.  and the whole place needs painting.  The seller didn't even paint it.  My concern is how much they're asking for it in that kind of shape.. All that is what I saw on an open house day.  I'm kind of concerned what I may find if I look closer.  BUT since its all I've seen its all I do when I can't sleep.........Decorate and justify..  GRRRRR

YAY....WHOOPIE.....

I got pre-approved today for a loan for a house/condo.  Now its up to me isn't it.?  Hmmmm.  I may be terrified. 
I met the nicest loan person at the bank and she approved me with very little to-do and now I'm ready.  For someone to fund me a place to live!!!!

Step ONE.......

I can get a house / condo now.  I'm going to talk to the bank today and see about getting set up with a pre-approved mortgage and then I'm going to try to find a realtor.  I am so excited and I have no idea what I'm doing so any help/advice will be appreciated.  I have to keep it small.  I've discovered that I can not have the mansion with the pool and tennis courts so I'm going to have to at least give up the pool and tennis court!!
