Cheese with that Whine.....

You know, for a holiday season it sure ends with a crash doesn't it.  I mean all there is ahead is cold winter weather, nothing exciting at all. Not even a holiday weekend until May for goodness sakes.  Late May...

I do love the holidays.  Thanksgiving thru to New Years are wonderful.  You get to see family that unfortunately, in my case, live far enough away that frequent visits are not a possibility.  There are parties, raising funds for needy families are used to give them Christmas, and general good feelings pretty much everywhere.

I'm sad

My wonderful son Xzhibit and his wonderful doggie Sadie were here last night and this morning.  He helped me take down all of the Christmas decorations and just as I sat down to visit the dogs, my Maxi and his Sadie decided to fight...GRRRRRRRR.  I'm not mad at the doggies.  Not at all, and I sure am not mad at my son I think I'm just mad and sad because he felt that he needed to take Sadie and leave.

Whooo..

Ok, I took the Christmas down, put it back up and took it down again.  "My designer" is working on my site right now or maybe a little later.  BUT...

I did it again..  Stopped at the store to get some "salad fixins" and just like a pro....right thru the self help check out with cucumbers, tomatoes etc that needed entering not scanning and did it without help.  The reason I'm excited?  There were god awful lines at all of the others and I was seriously considering leaving my buggy and going home if I didn't do it myself.....heheheh  Anyone want to go to the store?   Told you I was easy to please....

Let it Snow?

No...not any more thank you very much.  My son was supposed to be here already.  Yes tonight except for the little detail of some kind of big ole' snow storm yesterday that turned out a lot worse than he expected.   He just called and he's in Paducah, KY..still quite a ways away from here.  He at least stopped and found a motel that will take Sadie (his doggie).  He does have some interesting stories and poor old Sadie is having a time with twelve inches of snow.  So...after worrying myself to death (that just comes with motherhood ya know) he is at least safe with his

dog who is, of course, less than 20 lbs so she can stay in the motel.  Sure she is...

I feel for anyone else who is waiting for someone to get through all of that or anyone who is stuck in it....I can only pray for safety for them all and warmth...God its going to get cold tonight....

I know

I'm being a bitch but I went to a little gathering of some friends tonight. I usually don't go but I wanted some company tonight.  This particular group of people, when the New Year falls near a weekend, rents a mountain cabin/cabins for a lot of people.  I usually can't go because of days off etc.  So I was invited tonight to go next weekened.  I really wanted to go but then they began detailing the costs.............first for the first time pets cant go.. oops.  then the meat for the New Year dinner would be ten bucks. That's the meat only. and it would have to be cooked. Its some kind of rib roast.. then of course they began with the Asparagus, salad with home made dressing that the ingredients would probably cost each person 2-3 buck.s..( the dressing for goodness sakes). 

Just Today!!!

Just have to work today and then off until Dec 27th.  It sure will be a nice four days off and with Xzhibit on his way it makes it even better but look at this and tell me to relax right?   Good luck to anyone who has to travel throught this and we can all pray that once again the weather people are wrong.  At least for the holdays..

( I edited this to state the reality that I am actually only off until Dec 27th not Jan. 27th, dammit)

Any Ideas?

I could use some suggestions.  I really don't feel like Turkey for  Christmas dinner and my guest does not like beef.  So...anyone have any ideas?  Pork?  If so, do you have any ideas how to prepare a Pork roast.....I did get a recipe today for Shrimp Jambalaya..How does that sound and if I did it what would I serve with it?  For some reason I feel helpless this year.  I sure would appreciate any ideas...

What a nice visit

My son and his sweet doggie were just here. They stayed for dinner and boy did we have home moments with both dogs.  I'll have some pictures later I hope.  It was great seeing him again after all this time and my "rotisserie" piece of pork made a pretty good leftover.  I also went and sat in his BMW and what a treat.  Funky lites, heated seats, temperature control, sun roof, and all kinds of "additions". And the doggie (Sadie) sat in her crate perfectly good the whole time..It was soooo much fun.  Can't wait until Turkey day now.. He's going to see his sister tomorrow with his dad and that should be a great trip.  I'll post the pictures if this damn thing (internet) is up and running. 

A LITTLE TREE..

I thought these Rosemary bushes would be so nice.  Since my smellivision isn't working right now, do you think it makes a cute little tree for Thanksgiving?  I think its kinda cute..
