Ok, before I get into why I'm feeling brilliant this decoration thing is just a test so far.  I don't know if I like it or not so I'm open to anyone's opinion on this thingy..I wanted my tulips but to make a long story short I couldn't get them the way I wanted them so, since I'm running out of time I'm leaving it.
"Unseasonably Warm" is the forecast ..79 today.  How  wonderful is that!!!
Now, other reason for being grateful that I have a brain.  Those of you who've been around a while know we (our business) was bought over  year ago.  On our old computer system, we had a data base for all of our "data" i.e. quotes, order etc.  History back to 1994.  The new people said we didn't need it.  Fortunately one of our "geeks" managed to hook me up to it knowing that at any time our new owner could make me get rid of it.  Well, our new system has Access, the data base we used was Alpha Four.   It's taken me a while but yesterday I managed to convert the files from A4 to Access.  I've never had any training in anything computer so I've had to learn all of this myself so that's one of the reasons it took so long.  Oh yeah, and I also have this job there that takes up a lot of my time so anything like that has to be done in my spare time.  Whooo............Now, all I have to do is get the files in Access and we'll have all that history (which we do need) readily available.   
I'm only going to say this once....Ever since they told me about my blood sugar.  I've never felt so bad, every single day as I do now.  Even though I've been doing everything I've been told....I'm not sleeping and I feel like crap...That's it....that's all..

SLOWLY BUT SURELY

I'm slowly but sometimes surely getting this jist of this thing here..computer..as in laptop. It's not so much the programs etc its the little thingy in place of the mouse.  I'm having just a bit of trouble finding my cursor etc.  Just saying.  I do love it though.  I took it to work yesterday and it had a good time.  I did too because.....I got my little car worked on.  I now have air conditioning (which came in handy today) and got it all tuned up etc.  It and I went out this morning and had a good time too.
I bought my dog a bed.  See, its really going to get cold and he stays on the floor a lot so I thought a bed would be a good thing, you know, to kind of get him up off the floor.  HE WILL HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH IT..The little shit.  I guess I'll keep it with those damn puppy steps I bought him the he also refuses to use.  If he'd use them, getting up on the couch wouldn't be such an issue for his sore muscles. 
Oh joy, Peyton Manning just threw the football to someone on the sidelines.  grrr.. 6-3 Colts right now but its not looking too good for him..oops he just threw an interception.  I really really really really dislike the Ravens.  Really...really....damn
I've transferred some of my funny pics from the old pc to the laptop. Like I said, I'm making progress.... see?

Here I am, on the couch watching TV and posting.  Yep, cool. I usually injure myself when I'm posting and trying to watch/listen to tv at the same time.  Now I can actually look at the screen and post.  I'm also getting better at this thingy called a mouse type thing.  I'm not great yet and I have a little mouse to use when I get frustrated but getting better every day.
Wow,did you know you can order Papa Johns pizza online..mmmmm.  Not tonight but I may at some time...
Ok. my life is boring and I'm sure you'd rather NOT read about me and my computer. 
Today was dealing with grumps day.  Two of my favorite customers bit my head off today over things I had no control over.  One, swore he sent me an order and got very carried away when I said no, I couldn't find it. But I told him to give me a few minutes to see if someone had pulled the order etc and I'd call him back. Goodness he was p'o'd...So its not there (I knew it wasn't) and I called him and guess what?  He was as nice as a lamb. Think he realized that me not having it may have been his fault?  Then the next guy gets p'o'd because a manufacturer will NOT let me sell this one item.  I'm not the right "category" of distributor.  Starts screaming at me..saying "if it was a five thousand dollar item" I bet you'd sell it"....Geeze.  Neither one of these customers has ever been testy with me and its been 17 years!!!.  What the hell?  Change of years or something?
The number of "bite me's" that went through my mind was uncountable...mercifully, I didn't say it as much as I wanted to...
Ok.  I'm done..I'll stop boring you..  I'll have to get my pictures transferred to this computer...

Or not....See below to see why this is good.  I used to use the reader "bloglines" but it took them forever put up the new posts.  I was annoying and thinking it was me when this lovely person, after telling me he was having the same problems, suggested Newsgator..Off I went and started using it.  I liked it mostly until today.  Today, I love it...I couldn't get to anyone's blog from work. I couldn't get to Bloglines either BUT....For some reason I can get to Newsgator and I can read blogs from there.  Now, I can't go to the actual blogs but I can read them and folks.  "THAT MADE FOR A VERY NICE LUNCH" thank you very much Newsgator...Of course, it won't show me pictures but I can do that at night at home.....Nice and  even nicer is  I now have a weekend off to totally enjoy and that is what I'm going to do.  Enjoy folks..I'm sure planning on it!!

OMG

Remember I mentioned us doing a conversion to a new computer.  Well folks, this one might just kill me.  Its not that I think its impossible. Its not but only having a short period of time to actually learn all there is to know about this and then transfer all of the records into the new system.  While, still trying to do all of our regular jobs, all in the same amount of time is going to be impossible.  We're going to tick off a lot of people. And let me tell you this.. I hate the excuse "New computer system".  I think its a dreadful excuse and I'm afraid to death its going to be the reason.  Just plain damn.  I'm going to relax tonight.. Watch the dancing and take on tomorrow like the new day that it is.  Sounds good, doesn't it...pfffftttt

I DID IT.....BY MYSELF....

Yep...I've only been working on it for over a damn year.  Of course, I didn't take any courses...I had to learn it from books and only when I had time at work. What you ask?  Did you forget?  Well.
When our company (little) got bought out by another (big) company they decided that the way we did things wasn't right.  They told us we didn't need our data base that my coworker and I used for everything but prayers and if we wanted another one we would have to learn Microsoft Access 'cause we weren't using Alpha 4 any more and they took our computers and all the stuff on it.  Or most of it anyway....For sure our data base.  Now, I'm totally book taught on computers.  Haven't taken a class in my life and, lets face it folks, when I was in school there weren't computers.  at least not in school.  I mean if you want to put in data you had to punch out cards etc.  You should have seen my ex's term papers....OMG the cards....
Ok. so I started working on learning Access. Knowing data bases, i.e. A4 and having been self taught on that one made at least understanding the damn thing a bit easier.  But easy is not a word used in Access I don't care what anyone says.  BUT I DID IT.  I printed only one quote today.. Just one.   I could get it to print every quote ever done but couldn't figure out how to narrow it down to one quote.  DID IT TODAY....WHOOOOO....
Yes, there's room for improvement but for now, this one evening I'M A STINKING GENIUS.  I know the beginnings of Microsoft Access and I'm only going to get better....Put that in your pipe and smoke it all you doubters..   whooooooooo......Live is good.....just good..
