Weekends.....

You know after you get everything done on Saturday (which, by the way I didn't)  It just makes the weekend too damn short.  I guess I shouldn't complain, at least we have weekends right?

My new car is working beautifully.  Its so quiet and having the xm radio is wonderful!! I don't have to take mine and hook it up........

Right now its 51 here and its beautiful...The sun is shining right in my living room and it just "feels food" Having the a/c turned off...

Maxi., you know him..my little baby?  He's been having some warts popping up.  He's probably got 8 or more and some of them are rather noticeable.  Even though I thought they were "old dog" warts I just wanted to make sure that's all it was.  Well that may be the case with the warts, but that little grape sized lump the found in the general area of "his family jewels" isn't normal.  So, celebrating the car will have to wait.  He's having a biopsy on Wednesday.   They have to put him asleep to do this and Maxi is 10 so they're going to have to do special blood work to make sure he can be put asleep.  Those of you that know me and what happened with my roommate know the last thing I'd want to have done to my baby is to put him out.  I scared to death for him and if I think about it too much I get to crying... I'm not really a crier but since  yesterday  I've been doing just that.

Here it is taken with my little camera. I was cleaning out the trunk which is where I dumped all the stuff in the Saturn. I also bought some "throws" for the back seat for Maxi, and then I took him on a little trip in the car. He's nearly the same color at the interior. What a hoot. I think he liked it but when I opened the sun roof you should have seen the look on his face. !!! Stunned little doggie. I've got more new show's on my TIVO I may never watch them. Especially now that the weather is supposed to get beautiful..We'll see Take care everyone. I've put more car pictures on Flickr.

Okay,  I just got home and I'm dead tired BUT.  I have a brand new Accord, Burgundy, xm radio, heated seats, moon roof, leather seats and maybe more but I just got it..I LOVE IT.  I'll take a picture of it and post it in the morning....When it gets light...........

'TIS TUESDAY

Well, I've decided on a Honda.  It just depends on which Honda.  CRV or Accord.  I've done more research on this than anything in a long time.  The service is great. Depending on who you ask it's super to godlike and the sales place has been the best.  We'll see which one I decide on tonight... I thrilled with the trade in they're giving on the trade in etc.  So wish me luck and I'll put a picture up tonight, if I get one. Thanks for all of your help too...
Next.......Just FYI.  Its September 25th....Yesterday's hi was 90+ ,,,,god I hate this.  They keep saying it'll go back down Thursday, when it will rain for two days.  24th...Tied the record..I think it sa 94..........grrrr

What an experience...........

OK, its Monday and I want to sleep.  Its going to get hot again today up near 90, today, tomorrow  and Wednesday.  It's supposed to get more normal later in the week.  If this heat continues, unfortunately, we will not have a colorful fall at all.
I'm still pondering which car to buy.  I'm leaning toward the Accord and the Altima.  Consumer Reports is pretty fair to both of them.  I know everyone thinks I should try the Toyota and I haven't turned them down.  This looking for a car is down out right exhausting.  Especially when its 90...........The salesman/men ruined my experience with Toyota.  Not a one of them were good enough to get my commission.  The best car size/salesman was the Altima.  It is beautiful.  I'm trying to be in no rush but I did love that car.   but....Honda cars..They have such a great reputation...They're all over the world.   You can't go anywhere without seeing one. but maybe no one will steal it............I do like the Keyless option on the Altima....I'd like to try stuff with it first.   Anyone have either an Accord or a Altima?   Let me know ok?  I sure would appreciate it.....I'm waiting until Wed probably.....I may still drive CRv's and a Rav4.  Although they don't have an 08 yet....they're shipped from Japan and their not here.  I feel like I need to try that so I don't wish all the time that I'd bought the Rav4 , The Honda dude did call yesterday to make sure I hadn't forgotten him hehehe.
So that was the biggest part of this weekend.  Hope yours was fine.
Sport>>>> Giants won!!!!, Patriots won (had him on a board), Denver, Detroit both ruined a few other "football boards""....The Vols won, and the  BEST, MOST IMPORTANT was the Cubbie are now 3-1/2 games ahead of the Brewers and are in FIRST PLACE/  First place with 6 games to go.   You guys will have to put up with this if they make the playoffs!!!  I know,,,I do...this is the Cubs folk and It won't be true until Sunday afternoon...Unless the brewers collapse and the Cubs don't.......Say a little Sports prayer of.  I may end up with a heart attack...

What did you do?

Ok, so here I went today shopping for a car.  I tried a Nissan xterra.  I was too short.  Couldn't even get into it.  So then I tried and Altima.  I was so super.  The sales man was wonderful. I didn't have to aske one question.  He told me everything.  He gave me a great price too. He kept me there for about 2-3 hrs.  He constantly kept telling me he'd get me my car.  Actually he wanted me to take it then but I told him I'd see him this week. 
So then I go to the Toyota place.  That salesman would rather have been doing anything rather than selling me a car.  I considered at one point to tell him I was sorry if I was bothering him.  And going to another dealer. The car was ok but I wasn't in love with it. At that point I was for the Altima.
Then I went to the Honda place  That guy was so annoying. I know it was hot but what the hey?  If he sold a car he 'd make some kind of commission so he could have acted like he cared. 
Let put it this way.  The Altima guy made sure I knew everything about that car. And I mean everything. I know a little more about the Honda and damn near nothing about the Toyota.  Both the Toyota and the Nissan people would have given me that car today..With a pretty good price but I refuse to take it. 
So what would you do.  I'd kind of like the Altima and the Honda.  If it was down to salemen it goes to the Altima.  I drove all of them and they're all a great drive.  Tell me hwat you've done in that situation.?  I'm so confused and now I have a headache.   This isn't fun folks!!!

Happy Friday everyone.....This is going to be a wonderful weekend.   Why?  Because I don't have to worry about that huge project any more.  Its done, its in and it works or it doesn't...for now...calm and relaxed and that is good.   It's going to be hot this weekend but not in the 90's so that is good, the Vols are playing again.   Is that good?  I don't know, I'll let  you know Sunday.  I want to buy my car this weekend but alas, won't.  There is nothing really going on so...I may just sleep a lot. 
Next weekend Maxi goes to the vet.  He's started getting warts all over him and unless one of you can tell me what it is and how to get rid of them I'll go to the vet and ask them.  It may be as simple as "old age" warts but they're showing up all over him so I just have to make sure...
I'm only going to say this one sentence and nothing more on it.....Baseball only has one more week to play games. Cubs are in 1st place....by one game.   (get out of here you damn goat!!!)

You know, during the football season, Friday is a much better day than it used to be.  The weekends are just so much better during football season.  Especially Sunday. You know, football games.   Of course the Titans aren't playing until Monday night vs New Orleans.  What a hoot.  I can never stay up for Monday night football. I guess I'll hear about that one in the AM..........
Did you see my little sunflower?  Isn't it great.  Everyone told me it was too late in the year, and its not very tall but there it is.  You should see the sunflower sprouts everywhere..Well, right under any bird feeder that I put the sunflower seeds in.  It's not very cold here with any consistency anyway...And this weekend it'll be near 90 again so they may prosper.  They get the sun nearly all day.
We turned that contract in on Tuesday afternoon. Life is slowly getting back to normal and that feels very very good.
I haven't decided on a car yet. I've been wearing out Consumer Reports (per Hoss's recommendation) and from that I'd say you can bet that at least the Toyota Rav4 is a front runner.  It will be a while before I get one, (While as in weeks) but for right now the Rav4 is looking good..
Off to work.....this little guy has found my backyard and if you look you can see where the sunflowers are coming from!!

Happy Monday and a question

What did you do this weekend? I had a pretty good time.  We went to a party/cookout on Saturday.  They had rigged it up so we could watch the UT/Florida game.  They're really lucky someone didn't take a bat do that thing. It was a wonderful time, the food was fantastic and the weather was perfecto!!!  The only thing was watching the Vols not only lose, but be totally embarrassing.......grrrrrr
At least when the Titan's lost it was only by 2 points and they looked good doing it....Except for that last play...Oh well.   Then, on the "you pick 'em" board I must thank Seattle for losing for me......geeze to Arkansas at that!!!  BUT on the last man standing board............I'm still on my feet!!!!  Thanks Denver.
Ok, now..I HAVE A QUESTION...Need your advice.  I'm looking at buying a new/used car..Preferably new.  I really want a small SUV.  Like Rav4, crv, preferably a Honda, Toyota, or Nissan unless you can come up with American made which needs to last for at least 10 years and still be in decent shape..  Also what about Hyundai?  I don't know much about them..Do you have one?  What do yo think?   If you don't know what to recommend do you know a site where I can find "reports" about the cars, would you let me know what it is?  I really do need your help on this one.
This project that is due Tuesday....I may finally sleep well, at least for a while........

It's Friday...and I'm so happy.  So looking forward to this weekend.  First of all, because it is a weekend...but its Florida weekend...It always is a great Saturday when UT plays Florida.  And we always hope UT can beat Florida this time.  They've not done too badly lately but we're in Florida this weekend and.....well, we are playing the Nations #1 Football team.  I don't know if its a nationwide game but its on CBS at 3:30 pm so...I'm getting together with a lot of friends for a picnic and to watch it.   
Then Sunday....Titans/Colts!!!  Its just going to be a great football weekend.....On yeah, and just in case.  I have to root for Broncos too............
Welcome Hurricane Umberto (?)...It's going to rain all day today and we soooo need it...

At least its Thursday.  These long days are killing me.  I work, go home and go to bed.  That's it.  As you can see, I don't post either.  I slept late this morning and now I have to go...Doggonit....................

ITS FOOTBALL SUNDAY!!!!

Oh man this is heaven on earth again.  Football Saturday, (Vols won!!!) and then Football Sunday....Cubs won yesterday....Pretty good so far.  Of course its going to be 93 today and there just isn't much that ain't right ...but watching football while is 90+ just ticks me off..ggrrr  But. I'll watch cause I do have AC...
I'm going to a Picnic/Party next Saturday.  Does anyone have any ideas what i can take as a "side" dish.  I don't want Mayo in it because it still might be damn 90.  Let me know. They're deep frying turkeys and doing a "frogmore" stew..(no frogs, mostly seafood and sausage).  So I need some help.  I'm ok in the winter but hot summer........eekkk
I'm taking Maxi to the groomer today too.   He should start feeling better in the heat now..I hope so

Little Brat

Ok, so I'm taking Maxi to the "Petsmart" place to get him groomed.  Understand, I let the car run for a while so it would cool down before we left so he wouldn't be so hot in the back seat...So...I get there and there's a woman with two big dogs looking like they wanted to eat anyone/everyone.  They looked like some kind of bulldog but appeared too tall.  But one thing for sure, they did NOT want to be there. So, Maxi and I sat in the car waiting for them to get into the store etc.  So in we go, and right next to the door, on the left is a "tag" maker and a few other machines.  There is a little girl, i.e. 6/7 squatting down and looking into the machine...Well what do you thing Maxi did?  Went  up to her and smelled her butt...You know, that thing all dogs do?  She turned around and HIT MY DOG.........  Little brat...and no I didn't kill her but I sure wanted to swat her!Q!!

• The fine was Fifty dollars. It was due in about 2 weeks..If you don't get it in in time...There is a 62.50 service charge.
• Problem....I did it.. I knew I did it and was hoping the damn camera was broken..obviously not.  grrrrrrrr
• Now I have to run some errands with a bit of a short budget

Is it Monday?

I'm up and fixing to jump in the shower to go to work.  The first time since last Thursday.   They're waiting for me, I just know it but the break surely will help. Its still going to be in the 90's...Oh joy.  I'm sick of this heat.  It supposed to be in the mid 80's right notw.  The good thing is that the temp right now is 64 so the mornings are better.

I hate chicken

Help.....what in the hell is a girl supposed to do.  I've tried cooking chicken every single way, I think, and I just plain don't like it.  I did it with Bar'b'que sauce today....BLECH...I'm afriad to even give it to the dog.  I've hated that crap since I was a kid.  Now, what does one do.?  High blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood sugar.....Should I turn vegetarian?   And, does anyone want some chicken?  I'm telling myself I can't throw it away but good god its CHICKEN.......ICK

Well, here I am and its Sunday...I'm not rushing around doing stuff to go to work tomorrow...This is a wonderful feeling folks. Oh yeah, most of you have that too, don't ya?  Well, see....I can do it tomorrow too..I'm off on Tuesday too....mmmmm I so needed this break .
Of course then the Vols had to go and lose last night.  Blech...BUT.. at least they weren't playing Appalachian State!!!  Sorry Michigan fans.  That was just dreadful for you.  I was personally rooting for Appy State though.  It's right next door you see.  I've been to Boone, NC and its a beautiful place.
Derek Lee needs to hit a home run RIGHT NOW!!!...HE DID IT...Cubs lead by one!!!! whoooooooo. Bottom of the 8th and I am hoping to goodness they can hold on to it..
I got a GPS today.  I've been programming it all afternoon.  I have so NO sense of direction and I'm tired of getting lost.  I can not wait until I can really use it.  I'm going to start looking at houses soon and I know it'll be a help finding places to look at.   Of course if I had paid attention this morning while I was going to Walmart , I'd still be circling.  I think I forgot to do something...It was cool too, it was on sale with all kinds of discounts so I paid much less than I thought I would have to....which is of course the reason I bought it............
BB is on tonight...also a car race..also Design Star and...a big downtown fireworks show too.  Thank goodness for DVR's
