Thank goodenss its Friday. I'm obviously too old to stay up and watch a football game on Monday night and then function for the balance of the week. I used to stay up very late night after night years ago but I sure can't do it now...I've already turned off the alarm clock so I can sleep until I wake up tomorrow..
Did you watch "Survivor". That it such a good show. Poor Stephenie. She's done it again. A losing team. Makes you wonder.......are we sure it isn't Stephenie? She certainly can whine about losing. I became rather sick of listening to it last night. She also had better be careful about the whining in front of her team. She'll find her problem cured. She'll end up home. I know I didn't have a particular choice as to who should be sent home but Breanne was useless during the final challenge. I wanted to go shake her. I'm thinking that team is mostly useless. It is such a good show. Next week looks interesting.
OK, Friday night TV. What do you watch? I tried Ghost Whisperer and am rather ticked off that they too off Joan of Arcadia and put that in its place. Bring back Joan. Who the hell thought this show would be better than Joan. I sure don't. "Three Wishes" looks like "Home Extreme Makeover" with a different twist. But still meant to make you cry. It's ok but I think the Sunday night show is about all I can take. Numb3rs is Numb3rs.....enough said.. So tell me if you found anything or should I just watch what I've taped.
My favorite baseball player? Especially the last two years? Papi....The only thing he does is hit baseballs. Last night he drove in the tying run and the winning run. He is absolutley the reason the Red Sox even have a chance. Yes Papi...I love you...(real name: David Ortiz) Sox and Yankees both won. The next three days will determine who makes the play offs. GO SOX!!!! The White Sox are in....Damn.
The Cubs won...Why is that good you ask? Because they beat Houston and I'm rooting for Philly to make the playoffs. Philly didn't play. Cubs need to sweet Houston and Philly needs to sweep Milwaukee and then that will be solved. GO Cubbies....Do something useful this year ok?
OOPS. I'm out of Doggie treats......I could be in some major sh*t. I may know what I'm doing at lunch today....yep...
Have a nice day everyone....Weekend is here and its 53 here. OH yes. That is sooo good....

This week is very very long.......I don't know if you've noticed, but I haven't been "active" on this blog this week any more than in the morning. This is not my regular computer. That is not working. It never would turn on after the outage on Sunday so the computer I'm using is so nice and old that it runs on Windows 98 and acts like its 98 years old so I'm not just "jumping" at it. My genius sister is coming this weekend to see if she can fix it. Anyone got any ideas what I can cook for her? I was thinking Lasagna or something like that. She's a real health nut so I'd appreciated any ideas... I may make the eclair cake. She'll eat some of that and I'd have a wonderful chance to make it and I can send some of it home with her.....
Lost. How much of that show was last weeks episode.? Is this what they're going to do this year, rather than call them re-runs just fill nearly half of the show with clips from previous show? I found that rather annoying but.....The new parts were very good. May I just say that I knew what Jin was trying to tell them for goodness sakes...I was about to scream at Michael and Sawyer. and I want them to "make friends" with the dude in the cavern cause I want to find out how the hell he did all that. Come on now, do you really think he did that alone? and....What sick? mmmm. What kinda of sickness does he think they all should have? He'll probably give it to them or visa versa....
I watched the Apprentice ala Martha last night. It wasn't too bad but the Donald is much better at it than MarthaMar ha. They do have a resident $ob though. and boy is he a $ob , and quite good at it. Since there doesn't seem to be anything else on at that time that I want to watch, I may give it some more time.
BASEBALL.....For any baseball fans this weekend is it. Especially in the American league. The White Sox right now, have been assured of at least a play in game on Monday. If they win tonight they're in. Maybe as a Wild Card but they'll be in...They Yankees/BoSox play this weekend. That series will probably decide the winner of the AL East an one possibly may make the Wild Card but more than likely not. Yep, Sunday could be quite a day for Baseball.. It would be nice if ESPN would come up and put the meaningful games on TV. I'd be willing to bet the night game is Yanks/RedSox. mmmm
Guess I'd better go to work. This computer has NO pictures or anything on it ..I can't put little cheerfuls at the end of my post. I'm afraid if I load this thing up with pictures it'll get even slower.....Maybe I can find one at work to put here....Have a great TGIT and Hey Gizzy....I didn't forget you..

Crap... I just woke up. I don't think I even turned over last night. Not once. In bed by 9:30 and asleep. I did see 30 mins of "Amazing Race" and, I don't know the names, but there is one family I don't like. I'll investigate and see if they went home. Two teenage boys and they constantly picked on Dad about being lost on the way to SOHO....There is a bunch of screaming females I wasn't too fond of either, they knocked over and entire display in the store and left it ..... I love NCIS....
Good news for Braves fans. They win the NL East divison. I'm not sure how many years it is but I think its 13 or 14. Kind of need everyone to start rooting for Philly to win the wild card. Really..I'm afraid if they don't win, the Braves will never see round two...Or, root for Roger and Andy Pettite to have arm cramps...bad arm cramps (see, I didn't wish permanent evil on them) just so they can't pitch this one time.....
I'm off to work but I must say. It seems to be head hunter time today. I turned the TV on and they're trying the FORMER head of FEMA for Katrina (at least in the court of public opinion). It's times like this that I'm glad I like sports talk radio.
Have a good day.....

Good god I'm tired. To everyone who went to bed at half time of the LSU/UT football game last night.....YOU MISSED IT,FOLKS. After I wrote that prolific post below this one (which was the last play of Eric Anges' evening) little Rick Clausen came in, took over and Tennessee won that game in overtime. I didn't fall asleep right away. It was 7-21 when I went to bed. I saw every score but the one that timed it in to a tie during regulation. I woke up when they were in OT and LSU had just scored a field goal. Holy smokes people, What a game. I have a feeling that Clausen may have the starting job for the rest of the season. Right after they finish adjusting his new Superman outfit. That kid has done nothing but good for TN. I"m afraid Ange just doesn't have it. He sure has hell didn't have it last night. One of the announcements made after the "incident" with the safety/vs touchdown right before the half, was.."I have a feeling that Rich Clausen will show up for the next play". Sure enough here he comes. Now I then turned the radio on, which I usually do, and began listening and watching. There was a scene of Ainge walking next to someone and you could read his lips saying "I'm fine"...3-4 times while the radio announcer was saying he was hurt and disoriented....What a hoot. He never came back and I didn't go back to sleep until about 4:30 am....I must tell you that I had a dreadful feeling BEFORE the game that we would lose. I really didn't think we could pull it out down there. When the score was 21-0 I knew we would lose. After that game, although I still have no faith in our dear coach, I sure do have it in Rick Clausen now. I know he's had bad days before, believe me but this one surely is the best job he's ever done for UT football. Just think, LSU used to say that he had to transfer to UT because he wasn't good enough to play there.. They did say that, and they said it a lot all about Rick. Just how good do you think he feels this morning....mmm Today must a perfect demo for the phrase "Paybacks are hell".... Oh yes, before I forget, Thanks Gerald Riggs for earning your pay as a running back...One hell of a game for you too, especially the winning TD....GO VOLS!!!!

A SAFETY IS TWO POINTS FAR BETTER THAN THROWING A BALL INTO A CROWD SO THE OPPOSITION CAN SCORE A TOUCHDOWN AND HAVING A SCORE OF 21-0......................GRRRRRR I'm going to bed. This used to happend when they fed the christians to the lions.......

IMPORTANT BULLETIN
Many men are buying "black market" Vi* gra pills
from Mexican mail-order drug stores.
The U.S Food and Drug Administration announced that
several of these pharmacies are mixing the Vi* gra with
ground up Mexican Jumping Beans.
The results can be horrible....
Here is what you get when you combine Vi * gra
with Mexican Jumping! Beans.

I have no idea where mine is, can I borrow yours please? This computer, although very useful is slower than sh*t....Seriously. I'm grateful it runs but it requires a bit of patience and probably slow posts....
Its raining now and 71 degrees. Now its not supposed to get any hotter than the high 70's. We'll see. I believe that the rain is a visit from Rita...damn storm.
Did you watch Desperate Housewives? It was wonderful, or that's my opinion. That show is so damn good.. What the sam hill are they going to do with the story line with Susan and Mike? I was looking forward to them living together. And boy, can Bree glare? She most certainly has the meanest look I"ve ever seen on a face. Was that not a hoot when she changed Rex's tie, and her friends didn't think it was odd....I loved Lynette's interview and I hate the woman who was there. I can't think of her name, but you know there's a major hate/hate story brewing there.........I know one thing, if I was Gabrielle I would want to know who the father of my baby was. That will also be a season long story line....I enjoyed that fact that its back on......
DId you see the commercial for "Lost". For anyone who might have missed the first episode, its on right before the regular one on Wednesday night so you can catch up....
Now, as far as tonight goes. Well, the Vols are playing LSU tonight at LSU. At least so far they are. The Vols haven't left yet. There's no place to stay in Baton Rouge so they'll have no place to stay and no fans. No one from here can go there and find a room. We'll see how it goes. I don't think the Vols can win with not specific quarterback. Fulmer keeps naming Ainge as the starter but that's all. If he gets too mistake prone, he puts in Clausen. I personally don't like that so we'll just have to see how it works/doesn't work tongiht...
Yankees/BoSox are tied for first....mmm...US won The Presiden'ts Cup. First time they've ever won on US soil. It really was great. Titan's lost. damn. I think they may stink. It was close though......Eli Manning had a good game last night. They did lose but what I saw of him, he looked pretty good. **edit** The announcer corrected himself later. They have never lost on us soil. The Presiden'ts Cup***** sorry
Well, I'm off. Have a good day. No pics on this computer, sorry..

Warning...I will be crying in about two hours. This thing was filmed in Tennessee. Its 2 hrs about a Veteran and his family. I'm already tearing up......Haven't changed a bit since last season.........Don't forget everyone....DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES TONIGHT AT 9!!!!!!

I'm back but only partially. We had that power outage. It just went off everywhere for a few hours. Of course I was on the computer at the time...Now my computer won't turn on. No matter what I do it won't turn on. Any one have any ideas? I'm using and old one that runs on Windows 98...I may need some valium but at least its working.....
I ended up call Xzhibit in tears and he doesn't compute as much as he used to. Bless his heart. I know he just loves it when his mom calls crying.....I don't think I'll ever buy a HP again. This thing has been nothing but trouble....grrrrr...
Any advise would be welcome and appreciated..

I really don't know if the clouds are feeder bands or not. But there are clouds out there and we haven't had clouds forever...This is supposed to be the last HOT day in a while...Good god I hope so...I've just been roaming around reading some stuff I haven't read in a while... Probably haven't discovered anything you haven't but I don't have anything else to share so you don't have to read if you don't want to.

Actually this one is kind of close. Well, closer than some of the others...You try it...
Your World View |
You are a fairly broadminded romantic and reasonably content. You value kindness and try to live by your ideals. You have strong need for security, which may be either emotional or material. You respect truth and are flexible. You like people, and they can readily make friends with you. You are not very adventurous, but this does not bother you. |

I got up and ran errands this morning. Actually, I was going to do that really early, one problem,...I slept til 9. Maxi didn't even wake me up.
It looks like Rita did some damage but not at much as it was expected. At least not to Galveston and Houston. Altho' I am looking at some footage of Lake Charles, La and it looks pretty damned awful. Prayers seem to be needed for Louisiana again.
May I say this as a Tennessee fan (so pardon my bias) This football game that has been moved to Monday night............probably shouldn't be played. I'm pretty sure the UT officials are not putting the athletes etc on an airplane to Baton Rouge if its the least bit dangerous and as much as I love to watch UT play football, I sure as hell don't want them getting killed going to a game in a flooded area.
Have you ever wanted to shoot a cashier in a grocery store? I was checking out and she says. OOOH...treating yourself tonight?......Ohhhh, look at these vegetables, I've been meaning to buy some. ooooohhh Splenda Do you like that" Geeze, I'm not in the mood. She then talks about how wonderful this will all taste in a crock pot. She's going to do that too.....Hey lady....its not going in a crock pot. SHUT UP....Then some nice old gentleman comes up behind me and has 2 pkgs of Dove bars ice cream. And she literally shouts....Someone has a sweet tooth"...God, someone is going to kill her before this day is over. If I have to go back.....It may be me...
There is a monster in my kitchen sink. I had bought some half runners and was getting them ready to cook, turned on the disposal to get rid of the little ends. It started ok but then all of this stuff started coming back up into the sink. Get this, it wasn't green beans either. It reminded me of the stuff they described about in New Orleans. I can't find anything in there, (yes, I did put may hand in there and held my breath). The slimey stuff drains slowly but if you turn on the disposal here it comes right back up....I've got all kinds of stuff in that sink so I don't use it. Mercifully sink two, which I use to drain dishes, does work cause guess what? Unless its life or death......the don't fix it on the weekends.... I did know that.
Well, the end of my boring day so far. Off to watch golf, and football all afternoon. US/International tied 8 1/2- 8 1/2.......The excitement is nearly unbearable......

Oh yeah...I'm off today. Three day weekend. I've been fighting with Cingular and its still not resolved..damn
Survivor: I really don't like that Brandon. I hope he gets hurt or something and has to "man up" when he's hurt. I like the big guy Judd, but I'm pulling for Stephenie's team. I think I like them best. I'm thrilled they finally figured it out and sent Morgan packing. She really was useless around the camp. How does Lydia keep her hair looking so good. It looks clean and neat....??? I like her though and am glad they kept her. What is a fishmonger?
Apprentice: Looks like a good crowd. By good I mean "Interesting". They sure needed to get rid of Melissa. I do believer if Donald had kept her there would have been a fight. Carolyn looks great and boy , she sure had NO use for Melissa. I can't imaging announcing in front of Carolyn that you can't work with women. I hope she didn't wonder why the fired her...
UT-LSU Football game has been moved to Monday night at 7:30. It's on ESPN 2. I'm ticked off. I'm sure ESPN had something to do with when it was changed to. I'm sure they felt they needed that game and needed it at night. The Vols then have to play on Oct 1 too. Not much of a break. I'm not sure they can beat LSU, either. Not right now..damn
OK..You all know I listen to Sports talk radio..All day..So I hear pretty much everything that goes on. It turns out that Rafael Palmeiro is what you call lower than whale sh*t. Yep, he testified before the baseball people that a team mate gave him a shot, told him it was B-12 and that's what made the test positive. Supposedly Rafael didn't know it wasn't B-12. I supposed that's believable but then he turns in his teammate. The best player on his team. Miguel Tejada. Now see I've never really played any sports but I did learn when I was young. You do not turn in anyone. Never...Ever...Not for something like that. And you sure don't turn on the team leader, the best player on the team just to save your stupid a$$. Evidently Rafael has been told by the Orioles to pack up, go home and stay there. Don't bother coming back. He as essentially ended his career and I don't think he'll EVER get into the hall of fame, now. What an example of a perfect slug............gggggg
The Yankees are now in first place in the AL East. If it ended today, Yankees would be going to the playoffs. Red Sox would be home on the couch watching. The White Sox are still in first but barely................Interesting....
Well, everyone have a great day today. I'm fixin' to give Maxi a hair cut before it gets too hot. I'll probably put the TV on "Old peoples MTV" and listen to the radio...I love that phrase "Busy Mom".....
Damn Rita...

First , let me tell you that this day is TGIF for me....Thank goodness for vacation days that need to be used.
OK. I didn't get to watch all of Lost last night. Why? Well, there was this jetBlue plane, full of fuel, and its front landing gear facing sideways. They couldn't get it fixed so they had to figure out how to land the damn thing. It was over LA and had taken off to go to the east coast. Evidently Air buses aren't equipped to dump fuel so he had to fly around burning off the fuel. Now, you ask how could you watch a plane going round 'n round? I watch Nascar, remember.. The landing was beautiful but it took a chunk out of the beginning of Lost. I do have it taped and plan on watching the whole thing soon. BUT. I did see Locke and Kate go into the hatch and Jack come to rescue Kate at least. I can say this. Damn it looks like it'll be just fine, don't you?
Did you watch "Invasion"? I did fall asleep, but was recording it but it looked pretty good so far. The only show I've vetoed so far is "bones". I've watched it twice and neither one appeals to me. That's good too, because it would have made me make a choice of some others that I like.
The helmet that Robbie Gordon threw at Michael Waltrip last Sunday was pulled from E-Bay. The bidding had gone up to 10 million dollars..............What? It wasn't Dale Earnhardt tossing it for goodness sakes.....Dopes or what every.
If my blog drives you crazy, that's fine. I'm learning creating etc...I'm still working on this one but between a dissatisfied dog, premier of "Lost", and jetBlue plane...........well I just plain stopped.
I saw a report last night on RITA. (You know, the now 3rd worst hurricane ever), and they showed how the surge water could actually go inland as far as Houston. And if that happens, you can kiss Galveston bye...............probably can anyway if it comes ashore where they're saying it will. Time to start praying for hurricane victims again.
I'm listening to the radio and they just said that Rafael Palmiero(sp) testified that a teammate gave him the stuff he tested positive for.......and named the person who gave it to him.........CYOA?
Have a great day everyone.....I'm off.

Good bye and good riddance BB. I was very disappointed in last nights episode. Did ya like it when Maggie said "I Don't think they like either one of us!!". She may be right, I became less of a Maggie fan as the night went on. Doesn't Rachel just hate Ivette..I guess Maggie winning is ok. I'll tell you though...when they announced Maggie as the winner did you notice Ivette's face. I wasn't really sure what she was going to do. She's not the most graceful loser is she? Of course, what BB going off means is Amazing Race starts next week and that is always a good thing. Lets hope it stays a good thing.
Its going to be 90 again today. GRRRRRRR
Oh joy...Rita is a three. Should be a four very soon and it could hit from Louisiana to Mexico. Sorry Mexico, but I'm pulling for you right now. They just said that the levees just flat won't hold.....Just when they get New Orleans nearly pumped out.....I saw that mayor last night on Anderson. Mayor dude is rather cocky isn't he?
Do we want to discuss my cell phone? Anyone? mmm My text messaging is not working. They get close though and then it quits. and from 6 to 8:30 last night...they still can't figure it out. Each person I spoke with had a different idea and indicated that what the last guy told me was wrong. No...I don't need it but damn...I'm paying for it so I want it fixed..dammit. You know I never heard anyone complain about Cingular, which I have had since before it was Bell South. They bought ATT and all I hear is complaints and now I'm having trouble....I've never had trouble with my phone before either. This could become very interesting. I'd drop it but the package with it includes the camera phone etc with I use a lot.....Oh well.........I'll take cheese with that please....
The weatherman who seems to have no touch with reality seems to have bleached his hair. Short, round and blonde.......eek..... He also just said , and I quote "on your way out this morning, when you leave for work at 8:00."...................I don't know a single person that can leave at 8:00. Don't get me wrong, I know there are some I just personally don't know anyone. Pretty much everyone has to BE AT work at 8.. Gosh I love picking on that dude.
Don't forget now.....LOST.....something about it is on at 8 pm, the premier is at 9. There are a few other premiers I want to see tonight but none as important as "Lost". I loved NCIS last night, sorry its a two parter though. I taped everything else last night so I haven't seen them yet...
Today.......90 again.....and I guess I'm going to have to learn about AFLAC from the AFLAC dude who is coming by today to try to convince us to sign up for it........Have a great day everyone....After all....it is Hump Day..
I had a cat that used to do that at night. Always scared the shit out of me when I woke up... Darn green eyes glowed in the dark.....

I don't know if anyone has watched Anderson Cooper but he did a thing about EIGHT dolphins that had gotton loose from the aquarium they were in and were out in the Gulf. They had NEVER been in the wild. They were trying to save them and get them into a Navy tank...Yesterday they had found and rescued four but the other four had disappeared. They were really worried especially with Rita coming but today they found all four and rescued them.........WHOOOO>.......Such a nice story.....Don't have a dolphin picture so......................just imagine

Just a few observations on my part. Mainly enough to take up space so it looks like I have so much going on in my life.....
Football fans..........last night was heaven wasn't it? Especially the early games, starting at 7:30 p.m. I so loved that. I'd love MNF if it started this early. I almost made it to the end of that game. Good for the Giants, too. That was a nice win. Especially since I have Tiki Barber in my fantasy league...
Baseball fans.....It sure looks like the AL division titles are up for grabs, as well as the Wild Card. The Bosox had better NOT lose the division lead to the Yanks. I know, I have a lot of blog friends who are Yankee fans, but they know I'm not one. They can come in on the Wild Card, I just want the Sox to get in with the division title. And. I know this sounds bitter and it is but I really, really hope the White Sox loose their division lead. That would be the biggest fall in baseball history!!. That would pay them back for all the stuff they say about the Cubs and it also would remove the Cubs from that dubious honor..............Ooooh Am I grumpy or what....
The Redskins won last night. Beat Dallas. There was a time when that would put me in a good mood but anymore, I'm not terribly fond of either on of those teams. I do know that the Redskins needed the win and Dallas really didn't..
I think its time for everyone to pray, worship or whatever to their God for Rita to do something. Go somewhere, but get the hell out of the Gulf.............Especially after the report on Anderson Cooper last night when the engineer said the levees would hold, maybe for a Tidal storm only.......and some wouldn't hold at all....Nice
That's all for now...Have a nice Tuesday. It's going up to nearly 90 again today...HELLO....................ITS FALL............QUIT THAT CRAP
This was sent to me last night from a Yankee fan, along with some other great pics........I hope she doesn't mind me using it... Smile

I am soooo sorry about you being sent to the dog pound for the broken lamp which you did not break; the fish you did not spill; and the carpet that you did not wet; or the wall that you did not dirty with red paint...
But things here at the house really are calmer now, and just to show you that there are no hard feelings between us, I am sending you a picture, so you will always remember me.
Best regards,
The Cat

Only a four day week. I've got some time I need to take off so this is nice to look forward to for sure
I don't really have much today. I'm trying to decide what to do about AFLAC. That dude is coming to the office on Thursday to try to sign us up and I seriously would like to know more about it. But, either no one who reads my blog has it or knows anyone who has it or knows anything about it or no one reads my blog. Lets go with number one... yeah, that's the ticket. Everyone is out of town for 2 weeks or so...I like that one better.
In the interest of boring everyone with my "nothings" I checked out a few "headlines" and decided to share them with you all...
First...This little tidbit about Kenny and Renee...After all of that time, four whole months (and they said it wouldn't last) she uses the word "fraud" in the filing for annulment.(sp). Although neither on of them have said much about why she used that word, here's the article. I must say, Kenny is from around here and he sure is well liked. Renee may want to reconsider using that word if she wants to continue to be popular in this area...Just saying
Second...The Apprentice premiers this week. I like that show sort of but I'm not sure if it had any competition that I'd watch it. It can get rather boring at the end. In that line of thought, it looks like The Donald may have decided to spice it up. (Did you see him singing and dancing last night on the Emmy's? What a hoot!!)
Lastly, (Come on, I've got to go to work!!) Here's the answer to loneliness. A little pricey but kinda cute, don't you think? I'm thinking the "hug/kissy" factor might leave a little but to be desired but seems to fill every other need , so to speak.
That's it folks....Have a nice Monday and understand this...I am sick of temperatures near 90 degrees on September 19th..............Where the hell is Fall?

How about those wonderful TItans...? Aren't they great. Improved my mood considerably. Just beat the crap out of the Ravens .25-10 #1 Enemy...heheheh. Carolina beat New England, and just in case San Francisco thought they were good........that would be Pilly 42-San Fran...3. I'm really glad that wasn't our game. It's times like that tha I'm so glad we have the Titans here.. I know this may be the last win they get but having them beat the Ravens is just sooooooooooooo sweet...
Posted at 05:05 PM | Permalink | Comments (0)
It's times like this and there is nothing else to say other than THE VOLS S***K. I'm so thrilled that that no good coach has been saying all year that we have a great team and we're going to the Rose Bowl. Hey Phil, can I have some of those drugs? Idiot.....All we're going to hear is "Urban Renewal"..grrrrrr...As you can see, I changed to the Titans. At least they admit they'll probably s***k.
My mood could really, really improve if the Titans were to win today against the Raven...I really don't like them.
I'm going to go and make breakfast, I hope that will help. Later.
Oh yeah, Tony Stewart has the pole today in the New Hampshire race. Think he'll win the championship?

HOW ABOUT THOSE VANDERBILT COMMODORES!!!!!
Posted at 06:19 PM | Permalink | Comments (1)
Well, if you live where I do, and you don't know its Florida Saturday, that must have been a deep coma you were in. Fortunately, its not until 8:00 tonight so I have plenty of time to get ready to watch. If I can get up from this computer....Here are two pictures of my roomies shirts that she always wore on this day...When she went into the hospital she had the shirts out, instructing me to MAKE SURE she had those shirts for the day of the Florida game. She scheduled her surgery to best assure she could watch the game. She was such a hoot. This kind of Saturday was her kind of Saturday. She could drive you absolutely nuts too....heheheh So in her honor here are pictures of the two pictures that she work depending on where the game was being held..
HEHEHEEHEHE...No, I won't be wearing them to the store but I probably will have one of the on tonight when I sit down to watch the game....And following is a picture of Maxi, my dog, expressing his sheer joy at the thought of watching football...........
(As usual, click any of them to enlarge)

Damn. First of all....I thought tonight was the last episode. Julie said something that made me think it was. Then, its down to Maggie and Ivette...Just shit. The only way I'll be pleased will be if Maggie wins. You know Ivette and Janelle kept praising themselves on what wonderful players they were and seriously..Maggie played pretty damn good herself. She did one thing that no one else did.....Didn't make any enemies that I could tell. GO MAGGIE....
AFLAC anyone?

Can anyone tell me what AFLAC is? Someone is coming by next week to talk to us about it. I know its the duck on TV and that its some kind of insurance but that's all so if anyone knows could you tell me? If you want to just email me you can at emptynest at gmail dot com..............
Thanks

I don't know if this will post or not. I can't get Empty Nest to load. Its got to be typepad because I'm not having trouble with any other site.....
Don't forget now. BIG BROTHER season ender is tonight at 8:00. GO JANELLE!!!!!
Well, the weather forecast is on and hopefully it'll rain today. It hasn't rained here in since Katrina passed on through and that wasn't much. Everything is brown and ugly and Fall is supposed to be beautiful around here. You know that idiot that does the weather is telling anyone who's watching exactly when the rain will be in their town. Down to the minute..."you people in ................can expect these showers to be there at 6:23........geeze. I can see it with severe weather, tornadoes etc but sprinkles...mmmm Can you tell I may be a bit testy today. That's a long story on its own, so let me bitch about the weather man. It's safer.
Did you watch the President last night? I'm not sure what to think about a lot of what he said but there should at least be an effort to get the people who lost everything the jobs in rebuilding their home towns etc. At least they can earn the money to get their own houses back up and livable and if anyone gets the money from the government, it'll go to the people that really need it. Did I say that right?
This us UT vs. Fla weekend. Here in Vol country this is the start of our football season. And its crazy here this weekend.......mmmm 8:00 p m tomorrow and I think its a national game on CBS.........GO VOLS..
Have a nice day everyone. I'm off to work.. ahhhhh..the life!!!!

I haven't formed an opinion yet. Was it kind of grueling? Oh yes. Hell, half of the Nakum tribe damn near killed themselves. Its hard after just one episode to form opinions of the players. No one got me really interested like Tom did in the last one. I was thrilled to see Stephenie and Bobby Jon come back. They were two of my favorites from the last Survivor. Although seriously, what the hell happened to Bobby Jo? He nearly had a seizure. They said it was Dehydration but it sure was a bad dose of it.
Someone tell me what is a Fish Monger? One of the competitors, maybe Lydia, is one and I don't know ..Help.....
How come the first tribe, the Nakum tribe, had water? They've always had to search for it and boil it. These guys had it right away. Actually both tribes may have had water. They had a lot of food and stuff. More than any tribe has ever had right off the bat. That makes me wonder what they're going to do to make them miserable. Those damn monkeys might have to become hood ornaments if they don't hush. Damn, they're loud. grrrrrr
And........here they've got this tribe that 4 members nearly had seizures at the tribal council and goodness it looked like they had to climb 20+ steps to vote. Geeze...I must say though, the tribal council site is very pretty.
I have come to dislike two people right off the bat. Brandon and Judd. Now, there have been people I don't like before and come to like later, so I'm just saying....for now, I don't like them much..
Of course they sent home the token old person who popped some kind of muscle away from the bone or something like that. He had been dehydrated and was in a sling at tribal council. It was unanimous and probably the right decision. He seemed like a nice enough guy though so......Bye Jim

Hello....I'm up and feeling very bad. One of the girls is on vacation and I can not stay home from work...There is something wrong with my eye and I can't make it stop. It feels like there is a rock in it and I'm pretty damn grumpy
I did talk to my friend in H ampstead NC last night. I really didn't expect her to be home I was just going to leave her a message...She was there. Of course my first question was, of course, how are you and doggie doing....here's he direct quote "I am so fu**ing sick of listening to this fu**ing g.d. wind I could scream" Next quote "The next time someone tell me there is a little, nothing, category one hurricane off the shore and we shouldn't have to worry........I'm getting the hell out of town" You should have heard the racket. She then let the dog out. He hadn't been out since yesterday morning. He doesn't seem to like the wind. The problem was.......he's a Cairn terrier. He's a teeny little guy. and he didn't come home. She was worried to death. She was afraid he had blown away since he's so little. We went on talking and so help me you should have heard her scream when he showed up. And this is the woman who, in talking about hurricanes, evacuations, and pets said "It doesn't matter how much you love the dog/cat. Eventually you have to make the decision you or the animal and you have to leave them" There are some things she and I will never agree on...When we hung up it looked like it was moving east and north and it seemed to be getting quieter. I do understand completely, after listening to what she had, why she'll leave the next time...
TONIGHT IS SURVIVOR PREMIER....I can not wait. I for sure will be ready and waiting at 8:00 pm. I hope my eye is better. This is really annoying. This Survivor is supposed to be the hardest they've ever done, beginning tonight.
Today is a day I really dislike. It is my younger brothers b'day so Happy Birthday Bro' but its also the day my roommate died. It was 1998 and the worst day of my life. I still think about her for at least a few minutes just about every day. It will be more than that today. Everytime I write the date.............I really, really miss her.....
Here she is in her Rusty shirt. Good god she loved Rusty Wallace...........
Have a nice TGIT everyone...I do need to go to work.......

My life hasn't become any more exciting since yesterday. mmm Maybe I should start buying lottery tickets.
Can you tell what I did last night? It is Florida week here in Vol country. Our football season starts Saturday night. That is true every year, We are in pretty lousy shape if we can't beat Florida. We spend the rest of the season watching everyone else's scores and no one likes that. The year we won the National Championship...We beat Florida. The next important game, as in HUGE rivalry, is the Alabama game. I'll save that for then...NOW IT'S KICK FLORIDA'S BUTT................(oh puhlease, just beat them)
Did you watch BB last night? What is it with April.? I think she forgets everything she says. I know that if Janelle wants to win this thing she's got to win HOH and she has to take Ivette. Same with Maggie.. If she wins HOH she has to take Ivette. I just hope April does what she says she will and tells the Jurors the way Ivette was so "bad" towards her. Think about it. Do you really want Ivette to win? Did you see what she did when she won POV? She tried to put a hole in the damn wall.......geeze she's nuts..The finale is next Tuesday night at nine but the eviction is Sat night not Friday...
Hurricane: I have a friend that lives precariously close to where Ophelia is coming on shore. I know, its not Katrina, but its still a hurricane. And, in the industry that I'm in...it had better not do too much damage because just about anything that is needed to put the east coast together, is in the gulf coast putting it together. That's just a fact, so lets all pray, hope, whatever that this is just a glancing blow and nothing else. I did just see a live shot on TV...Raining sideways yes it is...........
The owners of the nursing home where 34 people died due to Katrina have been charged with murder. I guess there just isn't anything worse than murder, cause if there was, they should have been charged with that.
For a little oddity today. If I lived on the west coast right about now, I may consider re-location. Call me nuts, but this is just plain eerie, at least to me..
I watched that new show "Bones" last night. I was interested in seeing this one. It didn't excite me a bit. NCIS is on opposite and "Bones" is going to have to get much better to sway me away from NCIS on Tuesdays. I'll give it a chance, after all, I can tape it but first episode didn't do a lot....Anyone else watch?
Nascar: Mikey lost his crew chief to Little E.....Knew that would happen but Mikey was hoping they could stay together the rest of the season...I wish Mikey would announce who he's racing for next year. That is if he has a job!
Enough from me folks. My computer has worked now for two days. That is a good thing. Have a great Wednesday everyone.......................Later

Nothing...Not a lick..My computer is still working...That's 24 hours straight. That is good, so far (knock on wood)...no, I'm not superstitious, are you nuts?
I've finished NikkiZ's blanket and am sending it out today. Hopefully Zoot will get it in time for her shower this Saturday. I've also started another one. I can't get in much trouble or even become very interesting when you're sitting and crocheting and watching Anderson Cooper.
I'm of the opinion that Louisiana needs to suspend some of the laws that are causing all kinds of grief down there. Last night, Anderson was interviewing someone from the national Humane Society and they couldn't take in any new stray dogs because the law wouldn't let them send the one's they have out of state and they were full. So, rather than shipping pets out of state, they were letting strays roam around looking for food, water and possibly their owners, who were probably at the humane society looking for their pets. What the hell?....Now you tell me..If you were in a situation like these people, would you leave your pet thinking they'd get him for you? Not me. Maxi goes with me or we don't go........ Would you leave him?
Have a nice day everyone.... Hey Gizmo..nice teeth!!!

Shit............I just created a post and lost it...........This day isn't starting out too good. So this is even shorter than it was....1.) Over slept....2). Titans lost 3). When you're done praying for everything else, would you throw in a good word for my computer 4.) I had nightmares about it all night long....
Have a good day.......

Something is dreadfully wrong with my computer,dammit...I had to do another system recovery today. Bad thing is I lost everything...Email addresses, Favorites, Pictures, Documents, Recipes scanned documents...What an idiot. I didn't have a lick of it backed up...........I'm rather grumpy now...Why couldn't have this happened yesterday...I do have to work tomorrow......dammit...dammit..dammit..
And to make things worse....the Titans would seem to suck...................
Posted at 05:18 PM in GRRRRRRRRRR | Permalink | Comments (1)
Wow, I was ready ..let me tell you... Went outside and got the paper to read all up on the Titans. You know, their schedule, roster etc...............
One article mentioning Steve McNair starting....That's is folks..You see, this is what you get when you live anywhere close to Big Orange country. grrrrrrrr.
That's ok...I'm fixing to tune into the games and just enjoy they day. I'm sure not going to Walmart today...I'm not expecting wonders from the Titans this year but you never know. They've got one hell of a coach......Enjoy week one of football folks!!!

What a saga of Walmart. They're remodeling my Walmart. This has made a quick trip to Walmart a total impossibility. They move stuff every day. It's not where it was the last time you were there..
Last night I went up there to get some yarn. That's all I needed. Yarn. So, I'm picking out the colors that I need and I'm kind of laying them out in the buggy to make sure nothing looks like shit and of course some of the colors.. They didn't have enough and while I'm there all caught up in yarn colors this young man comes up behind me, holds up something and asks me if I know of some place else he can get this thing and cheaper........I politely shook my head and said know. I had no idea what it was he had but there were quite a few of them on the wall behind me. He spoke with some kind of accent. I don't know what it was...So he starts talking about how he needs one that you knit circles and make socks with it..And he just stares at me. I smiled and said I didn't know where he'd find one, maybe JoAnn's. (I'm thinking Slovakia, to tell you the truth). Well, he just keep talking about how to make the socks and he starts raising his foot and by now I'm thinking...what the hell is he doing? If he starts knitting a sock here I'm going to die...I'm also thinking, the person I'm making this afghan for is just getting the colors I have and there had better be enough.............And this dude starts asking me questions about the "sock" things and have I seen the ones with something that goes all around and suddenly it dawns on me.. He thinks I work here..I may NEVER go out again not in full makeup and a dress.........Jeeze. I told him I had never made socks. You should have seen the look on his face. He says "You haven't? How can that be?" Holy shit people do I look like a sock maker for godsakes? Hell fool, I don't repair a hole in a damn sock I sure has shit am not MAKING SOCKS!!!! I finally managed to convince him to go to the register or to try JoAnn's but I wasn't going to help him...Me and my yarn head to the house.....
Trip two...Tonight.....Sewing and broke a needle...Machine needle. Realized I should have used a stronger needle so off I go...6:00 pm....Where was my brain folks. Yes, I was quite sober. Hadn't had a thing to drink. I was going to wish I had. Walk in the door and head straight back to "sewing dept".. Passing lines and lines of people waiting to check out. I should have gone home needleless.. Of course, they weren't where they were last time I was there...i.e. yesterday. I finally found them and, since I had been dumb enough not to write down what I needed I had to "peruse" them to find the size I needed. I picked two separate packs just to make sure and off I went to the front. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA how many people are in Walmart at 6 on Saturday...? Millions, I swear, millions...So, the side of the store that I first went to was hopeless. Self service, 20 items lines, regular lines. Minimum of 5 in line everywhere. I headed to the other end of the registers. Checking out every line...Hopeless..and that end of the store was the same so. I get into a Self service line. I'm third. The people at the register have about 50 items crammed into a little "carry" thing. Of course, the gentleman in front of me and I didn't realize that until they started unloading. The line was soon very long behind me. The people checking out......didn't know how to use the Self service. OMG. The guy in front of me had bacon and apples and I had two packs of needles and I'm not sure who wanted to KILL those people first....Of course the couple had absolutely NO idea what to do with produce, or stuff that wouldn't scan oh god. I do think we'd have all left the line but..where do you go? To make this long story short....They finished, picked up their 6 bags, took their change and left. The machine locked up immediately...The bacon/apple dude couldn't get it to work. They had to REBOOT the damn thing. Good god when those things act up, they sure do act up.............So if finally boots up and the bacon/apple guy couldn't get it to scan his bacon...Holy Shit I was thinking of telling him to just steal the damn stuff..........Finally he got done, I got done and it took me 50 minute to go to a store that's one mile from my house to buy two damn packs of fu##ing needles.........JUST DAMMIT..
Thank you , I feel much better now and I can watch my car race. You are great for listening and if you didn't read this, I don't blame you.....Have a nice evening...

Well, I had better get a move on...If you look at the right you can see that I have to be home around noon so I can watch the Notre Dame game. Now, don't think I'm "couched" all day. I'll put the game on and do "housework" stuff...maybe. It will, of course depend on how good the game is. I also have a new afghan to work on for Christmas so no matter what I'll be doing something.. and..I very smartly place my computer where I can also watch a football game so you see....I'm such a multi tasker...Sounds good doesn't it.
By the way, the cable guy didn't come back and murder me last night. Maxi and I are very happy.
Just a little on Katrina. We got some evacuees in yesterday. They had some of them on TV and they were told it would be 3 months before a decision would even be made whether they could go back or not. What kind of hell is that? No where to call home for at least three months. How dreadful for them....but one pretty good thing if you can think of it that way. They all got to bring their pets. One dude brought his snake (ugh) but its his snake and considering what they've been through, the pets are all some of them have right now..
I think I hate September.................

I left work early today to meet the Comcast dude here at the house. My "On Demand" hasn't worked since I got the new box but since the girl I called gave me such a hard time I just ignored it. So..I decided since they keep advertising it I must be paying for it. Now I know I could go get a new box but.............30 miles round trip at today's gas prices.....Nopey, their turn to pay...........
So he came and it was the same guy that's been here at least three other times. He just couldn't believe it. I guess he's sick of seeing me too so he completely rewired the entire cable into the apartment. New from the signal box to the inside of the house..He said "I know everything that's been done here so the only thing to do was to re-wire it" then he says "if you still have trouble.. well, your just jinxed"....Oh great. Now you may think I'm a nut but he never asked me to sign a damn thing and he left. Why is that making me nervous. That he may show up at an unusual time and cause me some grief? Paranoia is rampant, right? Tell me I'm nuts, go to bed....lock the doors and don't worry about it right? right? I mean, Maxi knows this dude. He barely barked today.....Paranoia right?.....Well, if I'm found dead you guys tell them to read my blog ok? I mean, maybe it would make a good tv show and I can make millions for my kids. Ya think.?
I know, I'm nuts. I just wanted to put the dummy thoughts down on paper so I can be called stupid and watch football all weekend..................Anyway, it is (Cable) actually working...We'll see how long it lasts...............Nighty Nite everyone..

Happy Friday everyone!!!...The weekend is upon us and thank goodness...
What about BB...It's probably going to be boring from now on. Howie was at least a personality to enjoy watching. Maybe they should show us more of the "Jury" house. With James and Jenny there it might just be more interesting...I really was hoping that Ivette would have booted April. She may end up sitting there watching April win. I actually think, besides Janelle, her biggest competition is Maggie. In my book she is. I'm thinking that Maggie hasn't ticked anyone off. She may be the biggest competition of all. Janelle had better be figuring out how to get her out of there and if it didn't leave April there I'd suggest Janelle put up Ivette since she didn't take Janelle's offer........Ok enough of that and I can not wait for the new TV season to start. You know it's getting bad when all there is to watch is BB...grrr
Patriots won last night. I was kind of hoping the Raiders might give them a run for their money. Now, I did go to bed and miss a good deal of it but the score (30-20) indicates they didn't.
I'm sick to death of the summer.. Over it. Last weekend spoiled me with the temps in the low 80's and 50's at night...That part is over, its going back to mid 60's in the morning and nearly 90 in the afternoon.. I am wanting it to be fall, and now!!!
Still haven't heard anything from RockStar Mommy. I'm sure the RSM Baby boy is just fine but goodness we need to know don't we? Isn't that why we're here? Daddy has surely fallen into a deep, deep sleep and forgotten about us little bloggers here.....
Have a great day everyone....

ITS FINALLY HERE!!!!! OFFICIAL START OF THE NFL SEASON AND ITS ABOUT TIME......... Phew, I feel much better now..Thanks..
Not that I think this is a good idea but there is going to be a pre-game show tonight with Rolling Stones etc on it and its going to be tape delayed, 10 seconds.....Now, what I don't think is a good idea it the damn show, not the tape delay. Why? Football is more than entertaining enough without some pre-game entertainment show to move into the game...That's helpful for chess, checkers, maybe even Hockey, just to get the fans there but football? Geeze.. Considering I live on the East coast, anything that pushes the start of the game any later should just be flushed....Lets face it, those of us on East coast who actually have a job, will miss the end of the game anyway, or will be useless tomorrow..So lets at least get a decent start of the game... Don't worry, I'm probably done with that rant for a while. After all, its the story every year. So with out further ado.........LET'S GET READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!
Now, help me here. When I turned on the TV this morning I swear I heard the people on CNN saying some of the evacuees would be getting Debit cards. They would be for $2,000.. To help them purchase the needs they have. I missed where and who's backing them, When I realized what I was hearing I looked up and there was a debit card on the screen so someone is getting them.. I can't find the story anywhere, and although waking up is difficult in the morning I usually don't hallucinate. Have you seen/heard anything about it and............How soon do you think it'll be before someone figures out where they are, how to steal them and how to use them? i.e. food stamps etc...I understand that they're probably safer than just cash, and maybe they're restricted on what you can use them for but I guarantee you this....Someone(s) will figure out how to get them...........There are quite a few empty shelters here waiting for evacuees. They were supposed to be here yesterday..no show. I just hope there aren't a bunch of people in some godawful place thinking there is no place to go while these shelters sit here ready and empty..
WHOOOOOO..........................................FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!

Oh joy.....Oprah is on her way to New Orleans (she may be there already but I just saw and ad for her show). So..for those poor people who are going through unspeakable hell they'll have Dr Phil, and Oprah to guide them through this. Now, I like Oprah, I'm just thinking that she probably need security and an entire TV crew and I'm thinking the people trying to really help the victims, would rather she go away..................
BB....One question. Has a pawn EVER not been voted off? I remember the very first BB and they talked this young girl into being a pawn so they could get someone else off.. That someone else damn near won....I just can't see April staying. If Ivette has any brains, she'll take up Janelle's offer and send April packing. Can't stand her anyway..Do you really think that if it comes down to Ivette and one of the others, i.e. Howie or Janelle, that she'll win? How could they prefer her godawful voice etc over Janelle and Howie. One more question...How soon will it be before Janelle gets some sort of TV contract? 1 hr? 30 mins?
Off to work. Happy Hump day and God bless "Noah's Wish"
