So its lunch and I'm "blogging". I go to visit the infamous RSM as usual, for she always makes me laugh. So in reading her post for today, I suddenly have "nightmares" of the "Lucifer" in our family and I decided to tell this story....
You see, I didn't care for him much either. Lucifer was a good name for him, for sure
This was a Sat am, and I was a bit hung-over. My ex brought Zoot and Xzhibit over for the weekend. Well, I can handle mine for goodness sakes. They're good kids and I really like them....but..have no fear I did have a headache and a very very low patience level. My children knew this and responded accordingly....
Well.....here comes my brother and drops off his son in my apt (upstairs in my parents house) while he works on the roof. Now keep in mind, no one told me this was going to happen..grrrrr...
He then promptly begins running and screaming up and down the hall. Slamming doors and raising hell. "Tell him to stop" you say...HAH...how many times did I say that? Oh about 3-4 times.. My head is hurting really really bad by now...
He starts playing with some doors that run up and down the hall to the bedrooms.. They're sliding doors and jam all the time...SO...I screamed...and screamed at him to stop...HAH..his dad was outside so he didn't have to do what I said...Yep, that's what he told me!! "I don't have to, you're not my boss" grrr
So, forgetting one of the best pieces of advice my mother ever gave me "Don't ever threaten anything you can't carry out" I screamed at him "If you do that again, I will throw you off of the balcony" (30 ft drop).. It seemed like a really good idea, too, at the time...really, it did, I swear...
So the little turd promptly ran up and down the hall slamming the doors.........What did I do you ask? I lost total control and grabbed the little monster, drug him out to the balcony and lifted him up against the railing. Don't panic, I wanted to convince him he was fixin' to fly. I don't ever remember being that angry in my life....Now, about that time, from the roof of the house comes my brothers voice "What's going on down there?"
OOPS....
Well, the little monster really thought I was going to toss him, and from that particular moment on never ever disobeyed me again..But.. just to be sure of no re-occurrence I avoided him like the plague also...
I've always felt guilty about that day, but now RSM has relieved me of that guilt. Its actually ok to really really not like a kid.....whew..
By the way, he turned out to be quite a wonderful adult...really. I enjoy the socks off of him now...yep
"fixin'"...
hee hee!
Yeah, we used to turn the hose on one of my cousins, he was so annoying.
He still is, though.
