Not feeling too good today.  Just a little "off".  Don't know why but it could be surgery a week ago...I guess I don't recuperate like I used to in younger days.  Rosco and I have slept most of the afternoon.  GOT to watch that Alabama/W.Va game tonight.  Right now Georgia is getting beaten.I'd rather not see that happen.  Always root for SEC unless they're playing us.....

Oh my.....

So, before the start of football season we all drew names from a bowl.  Names of football teams.  You put a little into the pot and took you changes.   I drew the Cowboys (bleh) and THE ARIZONA CARDINALS.    I won for 3rd/4th place and now I've won for playoff game winning and will win if the actually win the Super Bowl.  I may just have to love the Cardinals......Yeah Kurt Warner etc.............Sorry Philly fans if its any consolation my Titans lost last week..

May I just say...

Tennessee may very well go ahead and win this game.  If that happens there is only one conclusion.  Alabama truly stinks.   I have NEVER seen a football team that is as bad as Tennessee.  Our defense is good but they get so tired because they're always on the field.  Out offense is just not spending any time on the field.  Alabama has given us TWO opportunities to score TD's.  I guess I shouldn't complains but two field goals will not beat Alabama...dammit.  Oh yeah,right now Alabama is within scoring distance AGAIN..Maxi and I will probably go to bed.  grrrrrr.  I'm sorry if Phil loses this job.  This is not Tennessee football............

The race.  You know, the horse race yesterday.  The one Big Brown was supposed to win,  Yeah, that one..
Well a bunch of us got together to watch history being made.   Knew I didn't have a chance but ya never know.  They we had a "draw".. Everyone put in 5 buck,, drew a name and that was your horse to win.  Naturally no one paid any attention except who got Big Brown.  I never heard of the horse that I drew.  Everyone kept trying to get the person that had BB to sell.  She wasn't going that route she was keeping BB...
Ran the race, you know that BB didn't win but   DA'TARA the horse most of us never heard of won and  I HAD HIM!!!!

For anyone who knows why this is good..........NFL Network finally agreed that the Saturday evening football game between the Patriots / Giants will be carried on NFL Network, CBS and NBC.. This means that anyone with a TV who wants to see the game (football history maybe?) can and this is a very good thing.............Go Giants!!

Did anyone watch the Notre Dame/Navy game today?  It was fantastic!! 4 Overtimes but Navy one and I personally think that's wonderful. First time in 63 years....the best part though was when it was over, first both teams went to the Navy student section and stood there while the bands played their Alma Maters.,, Then they turned around and all went to the Notre Dame student section and did the same. 
I thought it was great....

Championship Sunday

First, and most importantly I must send "Happy Birthday" wishes to my wonderful grandson.  I probably won't get to talk to him today but I want him to know I'm thinking about him and am constantly amazed at what a wonderful guy he is and I miss him a lot.
I went to a party last night. A birthday party for a great friend.  He and his wife threw the party to celebrate...get this...His 75th birthday.  When I left, he was still partying.  Now, see...that's the only way I want to be alive at 75...Alive and kicking.. It was such a great party..
Oh yeah, and I felt like I deserved a little pampering myself.  So, I took myself to the "Salon" and had my nails done.  Acrylic.  I'm hoping that it will break me of this bad habit I've developed lately of biting my nails. I don't know why I started that but I'm having a dreadful time stopping so I have beautiful nails for now anyway.  You wouldn't believe the "advice" I keep getting on this particular "treatment".  Had me terrified last night that if I ever go to the wrong person my fingers will fall off.  eeekkk.. 
Ok, its getting close to football time.  After today we'll know who goes to the Super Bowl and I am sooo excited.  I'm pulling for the Colts.....and the Bears.

Oh this hurts, bad but.....I'm so da*n glad that Florida won last night!!  Not only did they wind, they took Ohio State to the cleaners and I loved it!!  Those of you who know me, know I listen to ESPN radio or any sports radio all the time and all week we've heard how Ohio will take Florida to the shed.  That Florida just can't handle it and Michigan would probably have been a better game.  HAH!!!.  Now Florida is our biggest rival.  Surpasses Alabama by a mile.  Their fans are at best, difficult but....when it comes to the SEC, we have a tendency to stick together.  Now, I'm glad they won but its over now too.  Can continue to hate Florida and believe me, I do.  Did you know that they're the only school who has ever held both National Football and National Basketball titles at the same time..How insufferable will they be now...........
Oh yeah, and all that stuff this weekend about how warm and beautiful it was?  Its 36 now and its supposed to snow today.  You can actually see the snow on tha map and its heading this way.  It'll be great if it does because the ground is too warm for it to do any damage so it should just be beautiful.  I'll take my cameral with me just in case...

Poor Maxi.  I think he's old and achy.  I know, we're the same age.  He's hesitating jumping off the bed in the mornings.  I'm going to give it a few more days of me being at work and him sleeping all day to see if it gets better (it has before). If not, we're off to the vet.  Getting an aspirin into him takes an act of god too.  He hasn't figured it out that they make him better.  Same with the Doggie steps.  He hasn't figured that out about the steps either.  I'm trying to figure out how to decorate those damn things............
Well, my life is back to boring so I'm going to work.  I've also got a Dr appt this morning to get my meds rewritten.  Long story, but we have new insurance and dammit, I'm so sick of this every year..........grrr

This is the third time in THREE WEEKS that I have screamed like that at the end of the Titans game... My little Titans have done it again.  Sweet Vince, in overtime, 3rd and 15, somewhere near the 40 yd line,  just decides the hell with the field goal, I'll just run it in..........AND HE DID JUST THAT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.....That would be win number FOUR in a row for our supposedly awful team.  Folks, this is fun....

At least the Vols losing, at home, to LSU su*ks......grrr.  I was a fantastic game, one of the best one's I've seen all year.  Too bad we didn't win.. LSU has the best defense in the whole darned country.  Oh well, we didn't expect UT to win more than 5 games this year so we're better than we thought.........Have a nice evening everyone!!

I totally and completely hate pro basketball and from now until football season starts again  ESPN will cram it down our throats...............grrrrrrrr.  Someone put something else on at 6-7-8 at night........................

Sports weekend update

Vols won..!!! Vols Won...despite Alabama's best efforts our wonderful quarterback Eric Ange got a hold of himself just in time to win the game.  I could love that kid, ya know...Phew...
Ok. next  Miss Zoot, my most wonderful daughter finished her race this morning and did it in better time than the last won.
Next.  Manchild  (you know, the one who continues to remain anonymous) is running the the Chicago Marathon tomorrow.  He ran in it last year but only half of it.  He was in training for the Ironman Triathalon at the time and it was last November. This year he's in it for the whole thing. And, at chicagomarathon.com there is a live feed so I can keep up with him. I've also signed up for email updates on him, and him alone.  I hope he wins so  he can quit being so anonymous. 
I'm tired and I'm going to bed soon.  Its time for me to sleep a lot.  I got a lot of housework done today that was way overdue and now sleeping is way over due...

Mercifully I noticed the Titans are the early games the rest of the season.. At least then there will be another choice to watch. Right now, its the only game in town and they're losing 20-0.................grrrrr.

I ended up watching "Justice", which I had on TIVO and was thinking of deleting it before watching.  My daughter suggested I give it a try and you know what....you should give it a try.  Even if you have to tape it and watch it some other time.  I'll have to do that because its opposite "Criminal Minds" and that's my first show that MUST be watched.  But, give it a try.  I really enjoyed it..
